grey_squirrel I think someone is going to give us an absolute spanking sometime soon and it could be this one.

0 - 4

Spurs did that m8

FWIW, 2-0 Newcastle.

Half empty stadium with 20 minutes to go, boos ring out at full time.

blueroyals 3-0 Newcastle

We never get anything against them.

Apart from doing them 1-0 on Owens 'return' game. I had three pints at half time, missed the goal hence why i remember it

I remember it because it was the match where my son got Hahnemann's shirt!!!

I remember it, because it was one of about seven Premier League matches I actually managed to get to live.

Nightmare for me - the team I've supported since a toddler vs my local team. I'm hoping for a draw to be perfectly honest! Will be in the home end this time as couldn't get a ticket in the away end.

Newcastle aren't really playing brilliantly yet they're picking up results. At the moment the present game plan is simply hoofball - Williamson and Taylor will get the ball at the back and punt it towards the Dembas. In a way Reading could capitalise on this, play 4-4-2 and use the midfield. Guthrie will be fired up to show why he should've been a first team regular, so allow him to support the strikers with Legs to do the defending. McCleary will have a big part to play in the one, and if Perch starts at right back (which is most likely) then McCleary HAS to start on the left. Santon is a good player, so McAnuff being utterly ineffective won't matter as much. Have to go out in the first half and attack the left flank - definitely the weak point.

Thing is the Reading fan half of me is really, really worried about Ben Arfa. He'll absolutely decimate the defence, it might be worth dropping Gorkss and playing Mariappa in the centre as the lumbering latvian will get caught flat-footed a bit too often. I'd stick with Shorey too as Bafra on the right will annihilate Harte. The guy is on fire at the moment and is creating almost all Newcastle's chances and goals this season. I've seen him play a fair bit and he's top drawer. A Top 4 player really, can't wait to see him play in the flesh. Ba's a real handful too, so those are the two to watch out for.

I think it'll be 1-1 in all honesty and that'd be a fair result. NUFC will shoot themselves in the foot by negating the creativity in the midfield and Reading will look to bounce back from the woeful WBA game. McCleary will diddle Perch and tee up the Pog for 1-0, Bafra to dipsy doodle through and score a cracker.

Should be a great game!

TheSiege In the next few games, only the game against QPR may give us a chance! Newcastle will beat us unless they all suddenly commit suicide! We will only beat QPR if they field the cleaning ladies!

That's one of the most melodramatic posts I've read from you on here, and that's saying something. :D Are you a thespian in real life? You have something of a "luvvie" about you the way you carry on. That's not a criticism, just an observation.

3-0 Newcastle. Can't see where we are getting a goal from, and can't see us keeping them out either. Another lesson in football awaits.....

3-0 us. A half fit Kebe rips the Geordies a new one.

3-2

(Pog x 2 - Phillipe Albert and Faustino Asprillia for them)

Kebe to come on as a sub in injury time and score the winner with no socks or boots on.

Pardew to headbutt the (female) linesman before being handcuffed and taken away.

Reading through the posts so far, lots of negativity around this game but unfortunately I have to agree. Can’t see us taking anything from Newcastle.

one or two more lessons in football before the team clicks i think.....at the moment, they look like a scared bunny rabbit in the headlights (chelsea game aside!). just ONE win and things will start to click i think....sooner rather than later please!

we have been slow starters for the past few seasons and turned it on later on. problem is, if we leave it too long in this league, we are fooked tbf!

I wonder what sort of reception Pardew is going to get? He's got a terrible record at the Mad Stad and NUFC actually have been to the Mad Stad twice and lost. Could be interesting this one, although I predicted a Newcastle win it's by no means a given.

All depends on the defence coping with Bafra.
