MrWestHam As for the debt, snore off. None of you got a mortgage?

Got a Mortgage.

Haven't ever tried to buy 7 houses and a luxury yacht that I can't afford with it though.

Point completely and utterly invalid.

You lot are like the benefit claimants, who still pay £150 a month for Sky TV, and then moan that they can't pay their rent. I know a few of those morons, and they're very much to society - what West Ham is to football. Above themselves.

Proper little bunch of accountants you lot. You keep yourselves happy by reading your Annual Report and I'll keep myself happy watching football.

"isn't it a shame that a season in the premier league every ten years is the best we can hope for"

"that's as maybe son but look at how little our overdraft is - and if you're still not happy after that download the 'we just scored' music on your iPod and watch some highlights from last season"

I'll leave you to it. I think Siege's comment was the best - I could just imagine him spitting it out and telling his carer to type faster and hurry up - that catheter won't change itself.

Actually it's three years in six. But you're a hammer so I'll forgive you not being able to count. I appreciate you'd want to forget at least one of them seeing as we dicked you 6-0 in it.

The last guy to come on here and laugh about how his club was more successful than ours and big debt and dodgy finances weren't a problem was a Pompey fan. Just FYI.

I'm not laughing at our club being more successful than yours. Football's not about that for me. I just follow my team and enjoy a bit of back and forth with opposition fans. Good post though - if you hadn't have started it with 'actually' you might really have hit the mark but that made you sound 12. phew.

I've got no love of West Ham. In fact I fcuking hate them. Clubs and fans of said clubs that self-style themselves are some of the most anally-driven in British football and West Ham count amongst them. The Academy of Football? Utter bollocks that. What's it even got them except a decent fanbase and a very occasional trophy?

Regardless of personal hate beacons though, they had better players than us last season, they have better players than us this season. They should have walked the Championship b a street and maybe they knew that which affected their performances at certain venues. They have more money than us (regardless of how it is injected into the club), and are more likely to be able to afford the calibre of player that is required to stay in this league. I didn't think they would be quite as high up the league as they are but their squad when they went down should have been a solid mid-table squad. Fact is they are a bigger club which is also more of a draw to a player (less so in this day and age but still not insignificant). Reading shouldn't have even been anywhere near winning the league last season yet somehow, and in hindsight quite laughably somehow, did so. The fact we got so irritatingly in every crevice of West Ham fans in doing so made it just that little bit sweeter, you know the itch just on the inside of your arsehole that you can't get to? That sort of irritation. Reminded me a bit of the Wolves title chase in 2009 which we absolutely spaffed away (although Wolves were more on a par on paper with us), so it was nice to do one over a club that I detest so much this time.

Credit where it's due though, they're taking the chance with both hands this time around. Still, it'd be nice to be provided with a bit of comedy Gold (and Sullivan) this season and see them screw it all up unlikely as it is.

Ok, probaly get shot down but, oh well, never mind lol

I'm a West Ham fan, have been for 32 years and have never had a hate or grudge against another team really, but man, some of the crap I read on here, KUMB and suchlike is really laughable.

For one, I thought it was all about football and where we are in the standings that matter, I couldn't care less about the people running it to be honest. Porn barons? So what, I don't go to see them so I I couldn't give a gnats ball.

Arrogant fans? All teams/forums have them, KUMB included, but have you read what you guys post as well? We are all as bad as each other.

Also, I have never been of the persuasion that MY team is the best/better/bigger etc I love MY team, all I want is for them to do well, and if they don't then that's just tough poop.

Last season, your run of wins really annoyed me, but only because you were unstoppable and I wanted us to win the league, but we muffed it and finished in 3rd anyway so good luck to ya 8)

At the end of the day, for me, it's football that counts, so from a West Ham fan that isn't an arrogant git, I hope your season improves because I sure know how it feels.

The answer to the question above?

Stood still.

When I became "football aware" 40-odd years ago, the only time that Reading fans would get to see the 'ammers was on the telly, or in a cup game.
They were traditionally a big london club, and they still are.

By comparison, what has happened at Reading over the same time period is extraordinary.
From playing in front of 3000 in a ramshackle old ground (god bless it), to playing in the top flight against the likes of West Ham.

They're where they were 40 years ago. We've grown.

Nice to see a decent post from a fan of a different club. Fair play to West Ham they had a reasonable premier league team last season that under performed but this season they've added to that squad with more quality so I'm not really surprised at the results you've picked up and I think you'll easily stay up and finish somewhere around 12th to 14th.

We need a miracle to stay up or at the very least some real quality added to the squad in January to give us a chance of staying up by the skin of our teeth.

Good luck for the rest of the season and I look forward to turning you over your place on the last day of the season.

TheSiege Over the last few years:- Cheated, cheated again, cheated with FA approval, avoided a cast-iron relegation,!

for which we were found guilty and punishhed. it was not us who set the punishments but those idiots on the original hearing who ridiculously said they did not deduct points because of our position at the bottom of the table and our likely relegation as w were so far adrift at the time - if they felt a breach of the 3rd party rule was serious enough for a points deduction than they should of done it regardles of the position in the table we were.In fact I believe the 2nd hearing said that the original hearing should of deducted points as it was what they would of done. I'm not saying the punishment we received was correct and I can understand why Sheffield United felt so hard done by but at the end of the day they have no one to blame but themelves for their relegation as they threw away a 13pt lead over us with 10 games to go. Looking back at it the irony of it all is that I believe it was Martin Samuel a well known West Ham fan who originaly found out about are breach of the 3rd party rule . You are very quick to call us cheats but you are very naive if you think West Ham, are the only club to have ever broken the rules on players contracts it's always been going on and still is.

Which could not possibly have been why they have consistently avoided the rightful penalties for the abuses they have been found guilty of.

well if Trevor Brooking had had any influence over the original hearing he would of made sure that they did not make such stupid statesments as to why points were'nt deducted.

Whilst I agree with a lot of what you say, 40-odd years ago the same could be said for Leeds Utd and where have they been recently? Where are they now? Not that much more than 40-odd years ago, where were Carlisle or Preston North End?

West Ham cheated and, largely, got away with it and that pissed a LOT of people off. I've, personally, never had any great hatred for West Ham (Nowhere near as much as I have for Millwall, anyway); I'm ambivalent to them, and I have a couple of mates that are Hammers fans.

Apropos hating other teams: a modicum of rivallry is, in my view, a good thing that adds feeling to certain encounters and it's something we don't get now (Not playing Swindon, Oxford or Aldershot regularly) so it's a bit purile to "Hate" anyone.

Except Millwall and Manchester-bloody-United, of course.

The difference between the clubs is that West Ham have an average Premier League squad struggling to adjust to the Championship.

Their position is inflated by a rather fortunate start, but they should be lower mid table come the end of the season. Carroll is the perfect striker for the way they play too.

We have a very good Championship team struggling to adapt to the Premier League. Bit like Norwich, and what it appears is happening to Aston Villa and Sunderland

QPR have a decent team of European players struggling to adapt to a different setup, again with some class individual talent.

I read this morning that West Ham are lining up a move for Joe Cole and Nicolas Anelka.

That's some wage budget.

I wouldn't be at all suprised to see West Ham be quite active in the January transfer window.
