Pearce-Mariappa

Gorkss has looked really short of confidence this season and can't continue in the side. He needs a spell out of the team to find his old form.

Morrison has had several moments of brilliance (dribbling out of the defence, last gasp block tackles, dominating Holt), but he makes too many mistakes at the moment. For example, he has been directly responsible for goals against QPR and Wigan, and you could make a case for the goal against Everton too (though personally I'd put that at the feet of McAnuff and Gorkss first). Two goals in four league games is not good. Federici, for example, has been responsible for two goals in five league games and the consensus is that he's been terrible, which shows what the consensus knows. He'll be extremely good in a year, but we don't have a year.

That leaves Mariappa- maybe lax in his marking, but otherwise good enough, and with much needed pace- and Pearce- slow, but intelligent, and that shouldn't be an issue if partnered with Mariappa.
