andrew1957 You can only have 25 players and Chelsea for example only named 20. The only waste of a slot was probably Gunnar as it looks like he will not play at PL level and I agree we should have brought in one more CM but other than that we DID strengthen in every department. Hunt was out for at least two games if I recall rightly.

And Guthrie was dropped for ONE game and then injured so you have no idea what Brian would or would not have done regarding playing him in future games. You just take every opportunity to knock the players, Brian and the club. Go and support Chelsea please.

Not all players count towards the 25 though remember.

Who will play in goal is the least of our worries, I think McCarthy is the best we have (sorry Sandman), but I have confidence in any of our keepers if called upon.

Royalclapper Disappointing news, he's one of the few we have with genuine top flight potential and has barely started what looks like a very promising career.

On the plus side, we could fudge Federici off at the end of the season and be done with his tantrums and prima donna attitude, and McCarthy can take the shirt. If we go down, at least we don't lose him now...

SPARTA Is this true? If so, it almost doesn't matter anyway because BM hasn't got the bollocks to drop Federici for what will obviously be for form or because he favours McCarthy. He isn't strong enough as a manager to do it.

Sorry, I don't understand. He's already dropped Federici once this season and dropped Gorkss and Gunter this week so that's just nonsense.

Gunter was injured, not that it makes a massive difference to your point.

No. I believe it came out soon after midday today. More likely he was going to the specialist at that time as well.

Was he? I missed that - but I got the impression from BM's interview where he said that he'd told Gunter to do something to do something to really make the position his own (after also referring to " a couple of mistakes" he'd made), that he'd had it in mind to play Cummings anyway...

I thought this was a joke thread but just seen it on GetReading. Get Anderson back ASAP

I hate Federici with his camera saves, his arrogance, his stupid bitch girlfriend and most importantly his inability to keep shots out.

Toxteth O'Grady (USA) ............Can Fedders hack it?

Can McDermott Madejski Hammond Anton or the back 4?
Don't worry about it, they ain't bothered about signing decent players since before the transfer window closed.

Feds will be fine, cheap to cloth cut in June

Adam Federici is a good keeper who's having a dip in form. He'll see us through.

What a big blow for a very talented keeper.

I hope he makes a full recovery and regains the form he had shown in the games he played this season.

Bloody hell it's not like we were winning every week when he was in goal.

He's a good keeper, with the promise of becoming a very good one but he wouldn't have single handedly kept us up (if that were the case we could still play him as he still has one good arm  ).

No that was prior to the #raging message. The 2nd opinion was the one that confirmed the end of his season

moonwalklikebas Dont panic!!

Mikkel Andersen is actually our best keeper on the books. Given game time he would be better than both McCarthy and Feds.

If that fails we have always got Stuart Taylor
Better speak to the Pompey STH's this season.

MA is a good shot stopper, but poor with his distribution and has little command of his area.......their words not mine.

Better learn to love "Fedders" Lacoste

Yep, as a Pompey based chap I can confirm this is pretty much what I have been hearing from my Pompey supporting mates too. They did rate him, but he probably isn't there yet.

For those interested. They generally (though not all) felt Obita had the attributes to be a good player, but that his confidence was completely shot by spending an entire game being kicked in the air before being sent off for retaliating to it.

In one of the pre or post match interviews he said how Gunter pulled up during the 'team play session'.

My assumption is that because he was in that team play session he was probably still starting. Either way he wasn't fit, hence not even being on the bench and Gunnarsson getting his kit on for the first time this season.
