bobbybottler Hi Peter CTFC

How are Crawley fans feeling about this draw?

I am guessing they won't be displeased by this, they will feel we are one PL side they are capable of beating.

We are due a win against an EPL side and this is as good a chance as any. We've played Man Utd and Stoke the past two years in the FA Cup and then ran Swansea close in the League Cup this season. Obviously there were more glamorous opponents out there and some will be disappointed with the draw.

I don't know if you'll appeal enough to the floating fan to see a big gate. In the 5th round last year we only got about 4200 against Stoke. The test will be (a) how the tickets are priced, (b) if it's all-ticket, and (c) how many you guys bring. The away end holds just over 1600, including 255 seats. These are in the north end of the East Stand, as opposed to the West Stand as per the plan on the Football Ground Guide linked before. Away fans were sat there before the East Stand was installed in the summer.

....last time I saw our two clubs meet, it finished:

Reading Reserves 7 Crawley 1

The day that Boris the wig was signed, and attended the game with Quinny and Gooding

Doesn't Gary Alexander play for Crawley?

This could be a chance to see if he's still worth signing.....

Hi

I think this is a good draw and a possibility for TV. (but if it is, please not at mid-day on the Sunday)

Crawley is technically in West Sussex, although in the north of the county.

My fellow fan Peter has given a good summary of the ground/near-by hostelry's and we look forward to welcoming you.
Stoke and Swansea fans have been excellent guests in our club bar and I'm sure you will be as well.

Hopefully prices will be as per our league games although I've a feeling they may be upped by a couple of pounds.

This should be an entertaining game and I'd be confident it'd be similar to when we lost narrowly to Swansea (i.e. not much in it)

Looking forward to it.

Good draw. Can't be assed to go through previous posts but this could be a good one for the telly.

Crawley will be right up for this. Tasty.

Yes and a potential minor-murking for me. Fully expecting the usual dull tie against someone from our own division or someone we have played recently/regularly, I booked a holiday and leave for Tenerife on the Sunday of FA Cup 3rd round weekend. And then they go and spoil it all by doing something stupid like drawing Crawley, would have been a new ground for me.

Struggling Prem side whose games invariably feature tonnes of goals away from home against a lower league side who have risen through the ranks and made something of a name for themselves in the FA Cup. Fully expect this to be on telly.

Perfect draw for TV and a genuine prospect of an upset. Reading might actually win a game 8)

Don't reckon we'll be on tele as i think it'll be the 3 all Prem ties plus Liverpool and Everton's trips to lower league sides.

Probably one of the main highlight games on the Saturday so streams will probably be around.

The press will be right on this one, smelling the blood of an "upset".

Surely going to form is not much of an upset?

Great draw I think! A new ground to go to, a terrace, and only an hour from Reading so should get a decent turn out. Good one for me too, as my gf lives in Brighton so will combine it with a weekend to see her!
