It would make me appraise ech game differently if he told us what this " agenda" refers to

His agenda is to push quality teams (whose budget makes ours look like small-change pocket money) all the way.

We will scab the occasional win, but in reality, there are no easy games nor points to rely on.

And if you didn't enjoy yesterday warts-an-all , then you are watching the wrong sport (but HE cant say that)

I wouldn't use the term "enjoy"....I enjoy it when we score goals and win.... I'm gutted when we lose and it pretty much ruins my weekend

If we're just here for the ride rather than in the winning business, I'll need to re- calibrate my mindset, that'd all

"Plucky Reading lose again" is getting boring tbf

nobody enjoys losing

But, if we have to lose...that's the way to do it

I thought we were good value, and we remain unthrashed despite our mammoth task ahead.

Personally, I think we will scrape out of this...and it'll be another exciting season....we've had so many over the past dozen years or so.

Stick with him and stick with it chaps

Again, just a difference in opinion.

I appreciate the tactical side of the game and like to see the implementation of a viable gameplan. I'd feel happier if we held Utd for 80 mins before letting in a late winner, rather than just going out gung-ho like with obvious results.

Again...a difference

I just love being entertained...sometimes it hurts...but I've had 40 odd years of that at Reading

Sometimes you have to evaluate and enjoy the opposition on show.

I wouldn't have thought that there was many neutral fans watching last night, that begrudged Reading a point or three.

A lot better than the 0-2's that we served up in some of our last home games in the Prem

That is very much my feeling having let it sink in a bit.

Probably somewhere along the lines of

"Put together as good a squad as our budget allows (something which before the season started many thought we'd done) and see where we are. If needed, strengthen in January (again on a budget). If we stay up everything is rosy and we can again strengthen with more security but if the worst happens then we have a better squad than before in the Championship without totally wrecking the club's finances"

And there's the folly.

That's largely how I see it also

Wish there was a league called the Premier-Championship Fusion League, we would be able to compete financially and playing wise in there.

OK, not sure why what I said is a folly but I'll add the words "and ethos" on the end of my sentence.

I'll agree that you do need to speculate to accumulate but it has to be sensible and affordable, you only have to look at the banking meltdown to see the problems when you speculate too much.

The real folly is that Man Utd pay next to no tax because they're in deficit but are still allowed to buy players for exorbitant fees and pay them ridiculous wages

Hmmm. Dunno. Personally, I think it's encouraging to know we can score goals against anybody. Letting in one goal and failing to score doesn't seem to entail many positives.
