Royals-lad14 think people are let down by this signing as full back wasnt really our main priority instead we need a prem proven striker or attacking mid which is very hard to find.

You bell end - we have one of the most leathal attacking lines in the league when it comes to shots/goal ratio - Strikers aren't even remotely our problem.
Attacking mid-field maybe - but again, we've scored enough to be about 8th....it's our defence which has been having a oxf*rd breakdown every time they have to defend.....

Yep. Strikers aren't the problem, it's getting the ball up to them effectively. All we need is someone to bridge the gap and able to keep the ball. A defender or two to stop the goals going in the other end would also be beneficial, you would expect.

And if we had picked up an attack midfielder the same people would be screaming about how we needed a RB... :|

Fulham fans seem to be ripping us for signing him. Although "he doesn't moan when he's not in the team" might be a positive thing to take from their comments. Is he any better than Cummings or Gunter though? His versatility could be useful mind you.

NR_Royal Fulham fans don't rate him. Apparently makes a lot of mistakes. Perfect competition for Gunter and Cummings then?

He was ever present last season, so he can't be 'that' bad.

He played 29 games but this was in a season when Fulham played about 60 games and needed most of their squad to get through it.

I think gunters performances have picked and they will keep improving IMO

Sometimes it takes a while to bed in or make the step up into the premier league. If your a striker you don't score any goals but it's worse for a defender as they concede goals which lose games so they look and usually are directly responsible.

He played 32 games but this was in a season when Fulham played about 60 games.

And he featured heavily in their european campaign. People here are so quick to slag off any new signing. At the end of the day he adds much needed experience to the team and the dressing room. He can cover left-back and play right-back. He wont have cost a great deal, and next season if we do go down he will be a decent player here as well. But because it's not a record signing, he must be shit.

Surprised considering we signed Gunter, then Cummings signed a new contract recently and then we sign another RB. Personally I thought Gunter was looking OK over the last few games and getting better. Nevertheless, I'm not going to slate him or get negative, as he's clearly had a decent career in the top flight and we have to trust the management.

Still would like to see us at least TRY and sign someone like Dorrans, Palacios or Olsson. Areas which I think do need cover and signings which would signal some intent especially Dorrans.

Royalclapper Fulham fans seem to be ripping us for signing him.

Some silly comments on here.

Kelly never gave less than 100% whenever he played. Towards the end of last season he was one of our most consistent performers, showing more attacking intent and linking up really well with Duff. It's funny how many will say "BH Riise was worth the money for those two crosses in Basel." What about Kelly? Was it it not he who set up Gera's deciding goal?

Always provided decent cover and really cared about the club. Good luck, Mr Kelly.

-

Agree absolutely about Kelly... A solid and honest pro with 100pc effort at all times. Wish him success in a continued career.Agree absolutely about Kelly... A solid and honest pro with 100pc effort at all times. Wish him success in a continued career.

That's slightly disappointing. He has been a good back up. Better than Baird and Hughes. Good luck to him.

-

Chris Baird?

Sad to see Kelly go, he's been a top pro.

-

Yep. They are all ripping into us. :|

Certainly not shit and a decent addition to the squad, the reality is that more people are looking at it as a very good championship team and that's pretty much where we are at.
In saying that with a couple more signings and with the wind blowing in the right direction we may just be able to do the unlikely this season.

Although there have been no real landmark signings as yet we are certainly better equipped than we were two weeks ago, there's time yet.
