Experimental 3-6-1 analysis

by scratchgrey » 22 Jan 2013 15:51

Not sure if this has been posted before but the folks over at Experimental 3-6-1 have put up some new analysis which includes Reading for once (usually only covers Championship, Leagues 1 & 2).

Some interesting findings!

I think this means that if we had a creative midfielder we'd probably be top.

Someone get that taken down otherwise other clubs will see our forwards are immense and come in with offers for them

It would be interesting to see how our current position compares to last season - my guess is that it wouldn't too different

What's interesting about both charts (attacking and defending) is that we are outliers in both.

We like to do it our way.

(And yes, I do like languidly clinical too, not sure about pushovers though)

I see we are pushovers when it comes to defensive effectiveness...

Keep clear of Bayern and Dortmund

Perhaps Brian should also adopt the above formation - see if we can become more of a threat

We are a perfect example of counter attacking football. The fact that we're cutting down on our long-balls as well is going to make our counter attack even more deadly. That really is the key to success in this league as an underdog. We demonstrated it in 07/08 and will hopefully be emulating that come the end of 12/13.

Don't you mean 06/07?

Yeah, I'm not sure I want to repeat a last day relegation on goal difference. Although that in itself would be a bit of an achievement given our position at Xmas.

I'd describe myself as clinically languid.

As well as clinically a genius.

That is all.
