Sorry to bring this up after a great comeback but Ledge has to be dropped such a liability gave away to many balls tonight

Super dooper. I thought we'd fooked it away with a mediocre middle 70 making too many poor decisions to hoof it or force long passes that just weren't there. Too many free kicks from too deep punted in when we could have played it short and got closer. But then Akpan plays a sublime ball and ALF is the king of finishing. Then it's the last few minutes scramble and a great cushioned header forward from Akpan for ALF to finish delightfully.

CAN. NOT. BELIEVE. IT. :D :D :D :D

So pleased for Akpan! Gutted we couldn't keep hold of him! 'Hope' he can earn a start soon for you lot! Some of you shall be eating your words after you initially signed him....

two sublime assists from Akpan.

Good forward defence splitting pass and a delicate little header!

ALF's finish described by Owen on BBC 5 Live as top top class considering the timing of the goal. This bloke is so cool under pressure and I WAS pleased when he signed because he's always been a finisher. NOW SIGN INCE and the team's complete.

what a talisman Akpan is turning out to be - both for Reading and Le Fondre.

Great signing.

Much more promising display compared to his last showing. And three assists in about 30 minutes of football!

He looks like exactly the sort of player we need to groom to replace Leigertwood. Can put his foot in, a bit quicker and looks to play pass along the floor. If he can keep up that sort of performance then he could be starting before season ends. Then again, 30 minutes doesn't a good player make. Early days. But those assists alone make him worth the money.

Akpen makes a huge impact after coming on against the mighty, dream worthy Chelsea. Couldn't of asked for a better start to his Reading career!

Akpan - £300k - 2 assists
Le Fondre - £300k - 2 goals

That's £150k per major contribution (snowball style).

Stick that up Chelsea's millions of £ spent!
