How about a song to the tune of the dad's army theme, in light of recent games, for when we're behind or being outplayed in a game (I know this won't take off but I spent the whole day running it through in my head so I felt the need to share it):

Who do you think you are kidding <insert name of opposition manager here>
If you think we're on the run?
We have the boys who will stop you're little game
We have the boys who will make make you think again
Cause who do you think you are kidding <insert name of opposition manager here>
If you think old Reading's done?

You're fans all sing round the ground 'cause they think the game's won
But they will go home crying
When we bring Le Fondre on
So who do you think you are kidding <insert name of opposition manager here>
If you think old Reading's done?

Nice try, but too many words and by the time we got to the second verse it would have fallen to pieces as someone might have created a chance which would have meant breaking into a "oh f*ck off Leigertwood" or "I f*cking love you Adam"

If we're looking for an appropriate song for the comeback kings may I suggest the following?.....

"We did it before, and we can do it again,
And we will do it again,
We've got a heck of a job to do,
But you can bet we'll see it thru,
We did it before, and we can do it again,
And we will do it again,
We're one for all and all for one,
They'll get a licking before we're done,
Millions of voices are singing,
Singing as we march along,
We did it before, and we can do it again,
And we will do it again!"

1941 Dick Robinson - We did it before (And we can do it again)

Although you may be more familiar with the version by the cartoon mice....

Surely after Wednesday it's got to be "Sing when we're shopping". The Mackems will no doubt be thinking "Ho'way, what the ferk is that all about man?"

Then again perhaps we should try some reverse psychology and get them to sing the proverbial "Sing when you're shopping", given that it seemed to galvanise the lads against Benitez' Boys. Could even start waving the proverbial shopping vouchers about

Sounds like they're bringing a full crew as I've got a Mackem mate who couldn't get a ticket for the game.

Is this post a laugh? I've only been to Reading a few times this year, (admittingly in the North Stand) but as a football fan of over 40 years I don't think I've ever heard such a pathetic sound as that made by Reading fans. In the last 3 home games (Chelsea, West Ham, Swansea) I attended, Reading fans were drowned out comprehensively by the away fans, both in volume and in choice of song. All Reading fans seem to be capable of doing is banging a drum and singing Reading, Reading. Never any variation.

As the chap on the pitch says, 'Come on you Blues - Make some noise'

6ft 2, eyes of blue, Pogrebnyak is after you.

and:

When the Pog doesn't score,
And we're needing one more,
It's Le Fondre.

On his left or his right,
And the goal is in sight,
It's Le Fondre

to tune of 'that's amore'

Change the one to two and that's a winner IMO.

I'm not sure if that would be more or less cringeworthy than what he actually does say.
