Is anyone else feeling really disappointed about Carrico. I felt quite excited when he arrived and then after his very dodgy half-a-game/premature debut, he seems to have disappeared off the face off the earth, with not sight or sound of him. Was he for instance at the match to watch the team last week? Brian seems to gloss over the subject whenever it is mentioned.
Does anyone have any more thoughts or information on whether he will play any significant part in the team this year, or where he might fit in? He seems to be a bit of a Billy No Mates at the moment. He seems to have lots of experience ( I know not Prem league) and I wonder why he can't be integrated sooner?

I'm sure he's doing fine but with the explosion of 'Hope' he's now seen as a ghost. I think he will be one for next season now assuming our form keeps us out of the relegation zone.

No, and I stopped reading there! The guy needs time to get fit. He clearly has a lot of ability, and was being tracked by a number of big clubs until this season when a contract dispute kept him out of the team, and now the guy needs to get his fitness back and he will be a real asset to us. A bit of patience wouldn't go a miss..

No disappointment with him at all - he looked like he has what it takes against West Brom, you could just see his fitness was nowhere near there. I expect him to feature at some point before the end of the season and be a very good signing just like Akpan.

For goodness sake he has been here 5 minutes and had not played all season due to a contract dispute.

The only surprising thing was that Brian risked him so soon and I suspect it will take him the rest of the season to get up to speed. Not every new player becomes a world beater on day one.

He has loads of skill and will hopefuly become big player for us - probably next season.

The fact McDermott was willing to throw him straight in against a very good W.Brom, side shows that McDermott rates him highly!

And the fact that he took him off at half time shows that he made a mistake.

Nonsense. His knee was heavily strapped in training and he wasn't fit enough. He performed quite well in that first half but clearly tired by half-time.

Playing him with so little football under his belt was without doubt a gamble and BM would have got alot of stick
about it if we had lost.

What I do not understand is why he was not on the bench v sheff utd and given 30 minutes or so when it was game over

If he is not injured it has been nearly a month so he should not be far off ready for the premier league bench
but not sure who deserves to lose out.

This. He might reasonably have been given a run out with the u21s last week also, to build some fitness / sharpness.
I'm not sure what's going on here. Possibly the heavily strapped knee is a sign of a problem injury. Hope the bloke is settling in OK.

He's been at every game this season sitting with the rest of the reserves in the upper west, remember he is young so hopefully we'll get plenty of years out of him
