I'm clinging to the hope that it's to do with his wife being pregnant - he didn't play the other day because she was ill or something - if it's anything other than that, someone needs to point out to McD that beggars can't be choosers and we need to play the players who are best suited - not his favourites or players who have pissed him off by not signing contracts (Pearce) or whatever.
