Big Ern Curbishley without a doubt, although looks like I'm all alone on that :(

I'd be happy with Curbs! Not really too sure why people aren't keen on him.

Because people want better football & they won't get that with him. Old hat these days I'm afraid.

I voted for someone else because I could very quickly get fed up listening to Poyet's posturing or Adkins's smug blarney. (I do not even consider Di Canio, though if we get him at least we'll be in for a laugh.) I'd welcome Coppell back or a promotion from within the club (Dolan?). Not sure Parky is smart enough, really--his managerial career hasn't always run smooth--same with Martin Allen.

Of the names on the list Poyet by a decent margin with Adkins second. Poyet has been strong, consistent & passionate with Brighton, and if we need a change why not go for something different (not Di Canio, don't be crass!)

BUT

Fukk the list.

I don't get why a third of people want Adkins when half were happy to hound poor Brian out. Who won the championship? And who spent 35million this year?

Brian McDermott for me. I understand he is currently without a role. :D

Someone else - I'd like to see Wally Downes given a crack of the whip. He knows the club well, well respected by the players he works with and would sort out any problems with a leaky defence. Has good premiership experience as a number two with us and West Ham.

I hope his agent has a least made a phone call or two...

I would love to see Poyet get the gig. He has a track record of playing football properly. If Hoddle is a serious option then why not throw Kevin Keegan into the mix? Likelihood is that our old friend Colin at Leeds will shortly be out of work. Whereas his footballing style leaves a lot to be desired, he would certainly give the players a huge kick up the arse. Totally left-field, why not go for someone like Benitez?

Bottom line is that there are too many players playing crap football. This has to change.

Di Matteo would be my first choice, but I don't think he would want to come to a team that's gonna be relegated...he won the Champion's League 8 months ago.

Also he is sitting in his armchair collecting 60k a week till he finds a new job or his contract ends at Chelsea. Can't see us paying him 60 grand a week!!

So if not RDM Adkins would be my second choice

Why the clamour for DI Matteo, FFS he had a multi million pound squad to work with at chelsea, my old mum bless her could make them play, even Fergie would have trouble getting a decent performance out of our lot

Sorry I do not get this clamour for Adkins, getting him in would surely be no more than a sideways move at best. What we need now is for the club to take stock of the situation and appoint someone who can take the club on. We are now looking to build the future and this appointment needs to be considered carefully and not just back filled with more of the same.

Personally I think the change in management was required but should have been done in December but now the decision has been made at least a new man may have a few games to see if he thinks any of the squad are worth "saving"

For me I think Poyet is a step in the right direction though perhaps may not be the answer.

Would AZ want to pay more compensation on top of the money already paid out to Brian and Nigel?
