(QP)R in Peace

by CrusoeR » 16 Mar 2013 19:50

Another fighting performance from your lot this evening.

1. As 'Arry said this week, it seems a bl**dy shame to me that McDermott's reward was to get sacked. I've enjoyed watching Reading play this season and I presume a lot of the fight and come backs were down to what he has done on a modest budget.

2. I reckon that probably even more important than Villa doing us today - we threw away a lead and played much worse in the 2nd half than the 1st....... don't rate Villa - was Liverpool losing to Southampton. That might be the result that sends us and you down together.

3. So, back to the Championship with the both of us? Or have either of us still got a chance? I reckon we need 5 wins from 8 games! Hahahahahahaha.......... possible as they say, but not probable and even that only gets us to 38.

4. Any of you lot looking forward to the Championship? Quite a number of Rangers fans are consoling themselves in that way I can tell you. We've had a sh*t couple of seasons and anyway need to seriously get our house in order.

Hehehehehe, well that's a nice welcome.

It's not going to happen IMHO. Our owners aren't on the fiddle (so no Pompey scenario) and they have said they'll stay and back the club.

It's come to a fine pass when football fans want other teams to go bust hasn't it? I mean ffs, wish it on ManUtd or Chelsea, but QPR? Seriously.

McDermott got his 'reward' because he couldn't get the team to play like that in the games that really matttered. He was given a lot longer than most managers would have been given to show that he could start to turn things around but his last two home games in charge were crap. Bit rich the QPR manager moaning about a chairman sacking a manager!

Tongue in cheek, mate. Haven't got much against the fakes, but the money you've spent to get where you are is pretty lolsworthy tbf.

A clever businessman always knows when is the right time to walk away and not chase losses.

I reckon Ferndandez is fairly clever.

Well we'll see won't we?

Anyone care to talk about football, or just the tabloid press's interpretation of QPR's finances? As I say, we'll see next season.

- And i don't think Harry was moaning, I think he was saying that McDermott had done a good job. I suppose that's a matter of opinion. The point is whether whoever your new manager is will keep you up or not.

For what it's worth I think that we shouldn't have sacked Warnock and would have been better off now relegated under him than "saved" under Hughes only to find ourselves in deep sh*t with him from the very start of this season. It may well be that back in the Championship you'll rather miss McDermott......... depends who you get.

- "fakes" lol! That's a debate not worth pursuing here........ or amongst QPR fans. All Hoops going down together - fakes or not whichever perspective you hold - ?

Reasonably happy to be in the Championship next season, very exciting, unpredictable league, and we'll get to win more games than we lose (probably), which is what you want as a fan. Hopefully we’ll meet Swindon, Brentford and Bournemouth there, and with a bit of luck it should be a very exciting season.

We've been doomed since last weekend, absolutely no chance of staying up, which as I’ve said, doesn't really bother me too much.

Very disappointed McDermott got sacked, as are a lot of Reading fans.

I don't hope you fold of course, but i do hope you lose most of your players, otherwise you 'should' romp the league. Then again you 'should' be mid table with your current squad.

Rather in our position than yours. No one in their right mind is gonna bank role a club in the championship to this tune, especially on this kind of money.

It's hard to avoid the conclusion that there is going to be a "readjustment" to new realities at QPR. I'm hoping that we manage that and develop a real long term plan. Hopefully we'll have learned something or other.

I think the Championship is a fantastic league, love going to the games and the competitiveness throughout the division. Of course it's a shame to get relegated just when the TV money goes up in the Premiership (we managed the same trick in '96), but as players will no doubt snaffle the vast majority of the money, I shan't complain too much about seeing a team of players with pride in the shirt and passion for the game........ fingers firmly crossed.

As a club the premiership is obviously the place to be but for me personally as a fan, although never losing my love for the club, I fall out of love a bit with football itself when we have been in the premier league.

I suppose I'm a bit of the opposite to a, so called, plastic. I'd much rather see us competing at some sh!thole grounds that we can get a result at. Thankfully you'll be coming down with us.

CrusoeR, decent post and welcome. Your analysis of the Saints result seems spot on alas. Tbf they deserve it, they've looked good since about November.

Worst thing about that is that that lad Puncheon wasn't good enough for us apparently!! :(

To be fair Jason Puncheon can look a old beater some days and utter gash on others. He had a massive attitude problem, which is why we loaned him out to Millwall, Blackpool and you lot.

I don't think QPR will go bust, despite Arry's best efforts, but I do expect the biggest firesale in history!

Redknapp doesn't do long term mate - if he stays around he will be after millions again again in the summer. Has he ever signed a player like Le Fondre/Akpan?

Its got oxf*rd all to do with that crook Redknapp, he is a cnut of the highest order and needs to get his own house in order first and if you've enjoyed watching us this season you obviously haven't watched us much.

Battle for 20th place now I reckon. We should be capable of sewing this up quite easily.
