Big Ern Might mean nothing but Curbishley was at Old Trafford today.

and Curbishley is exactly what we need. Been saying that since day dot of Brian's dismissal

He would be my first choice as well. Can't believe the ignorance of some fans who don't rate him. They obviously know very little about football.

We would be lucky to have him IMO.

Thank God I'm not the only one on HNA who wants him here. Ignorance is the only word that describes it. The one time I got into a discussion with someone about it here, they had no idea at he had a good record and tried to take the p*ss before I had to spell it out for them He's been off the scene for a few years so ppl don't know who he is. Pathetic. FootbaLOL fans, my hairy arse.

GET CURBISHLEY NOW
if you screw that up, I'll accept Adkins.
Don't you frikking even contemplate someone like Dolan, after getting rid of Brian!

I can't take anyone seriously wanting Curbs in! He's been out of the game for too long, and did sod all at West Ham. In fact, apart from over-achieving at Charlton (did a marvellous job), he's done nothing since. Massive no!

Charlton Athletic 206 76 80 50 36.89
Charlton Athletic 514 198 179 137 38.52
West Ham United 71 29 28 14 40.85

Football League First Division (second tier) play-off winner: 1997–98
Football League First Division (second tier) champions: 1999–2000

Not that great to be honest, and he had some good coaches to help him at Charlton

Just checked out the Dictionary definition of "Ignorance." simply says 'Divvy.'

It makes you wonder why I called myself it, doesn't it...?

Curbs would be a risk. He's been out of the game for too long. Shit, why not consider Steve McLaren while you're in the mood for gambles?

FAO Ideal. 57 league goals in 29 games this season does not equate to a lack of penetration. I wont bother hanging round so dont reply. I realise the search for a new Reading manager is non of my business.

2 world wars, 1 world cup Read the post FFS

I have no issues with him going if we go for something better/different. Otherwise it is confusing.

But going for another nobod... Of FFS I'm not going to repeat myself. Its not rocket science.

Dolan DID do something better and different. He had us organised and passing the ball vaguely well. Besides, we haven't appointed anyone yet, it's a bit early to start getting your nickers in a twist. It's not like an appointment is urgent with two weeks until we play another game that we can almost certainly write off as a loss, before we get into the important games to target.

5 years is a long time to be out of football. I'm not sure that says a lot about his readiness or desire to manage. If he's still got what he had back when he last had a job I'd love him to come, but it is definitely a reasonable concern to have about him.

I wanted Curbishley to replace Coppell, then Rodgers. Even back then, there were concerns that he'd be out of the game too long.

He was a fantastic manager, but he'd be a risk. The again, who wouldn't?

My pseudo-realistic preferences:
1) Dolan
1.5) other internal appointment (Kuhl, Dodds, Cummins)
2) Coppell
3) Di Matteo (or other barely realistic big name, Blanc, Deschamps, Capello  )
4) Adkins
5) Curbishley
6) Upcoming managers of promise (Robinson, Solksjaer) or other established managers who play good stuff (O'Driscoll, Freedman, Coyle etc.)
7) Young(ish) managers, big gambles (Howe, Parkinson, Roesler, etc.)
8) Poyet
9) Mundane, mediocre and uninspiring (McClaren, McCleish, McCoist, McCarthy, Megson)
Warnock
Robert Maxwell's ghost
Di Canio

If he gets it I will cry and boycott Russian paper. Would rather we put the Futcher brothers in joint charge.

Can confirm I would begrudgingly accept Mourinho turning down every other club in the world to manage Reading as long as he apologised for his past antics and provided amusement.

After today's other results we will need a super miracle to stay up, so in my opinion the club should give the job to Dolan until the end of the season and see how he gets on.

Seems to be doing a good job at the moment. Good team selection today and they played well. No manager coming is will win 5 of the last 7 - which we now need to do assuming we lose to Arsenal - so surely best to take time to make the right decision.

Warnock is a thug who plays dirty nasty football and blames everybody else. He was in charge of Leeds when they kicked the shit out of us. Refer PDC to him, I think...

Do you lot honestly think Dolan got us playing like that today?

Facts are

- Utd were poor, very poor
- We had 1 chance, HRK, which went wide
- we passed it about nicely but didnt really cause trouble so Utd let us, as they knew conceding set plays against us was risky
- The players were proving a point to the next manager and "doing it for Brian"

Why was McAnuff in the middle from the start - you lot moan about that when he gets 15mins there....

Let's not let this performance paper over the cracks, like our January did with MOTM and POTM
