My work colleague who's an ardent Brighton fan says that Poyet is currently on holiday in Barbados...I've no reason to doubt him.

Of course, there are methods of communication...but don't go rushing to the Mad Stad just yet!

A midseason holiday to Barbados? In a couple of months he has a few months holiday.. Why doesn't he go then?

Poyet does have great teeth but he lacks eyebrows, can't just be coincidence that Urbancic is joining too cos he has plenty spare. Case closed thanks to CSI Whitley :D

TBM    - more from the Brighton lot

The deal for Zingarevich to buy Reading FC dragged on for ages. Why? Because John Madewski wasn't convinced this guy had the dosh to do the deal. There are still very strong rumours that his wealth is nowhere near that reported. So.....
1) Dodgy Chairman
2) Dodgy Chairman sacks loyal employee ( Brian McD ) and upsets everyone at club.
3) Championship club next season.
4) Don't kid yerself they will have a big kitty next season. THEY DIDN'T HAVE ONE THIS.
5) Fickle fanbase...24,000 in Prem.....14,000 in Championship.
6) If Bolton and Blackburn couldn't challenge this season and they had better players in the Prem ( and retained most )than Reading.....WHAT CHANCE HAVE READING GOT OF BOUNCING STRAIGHT BACK?
There seems to be this argument going around that Reading are awash with money....Crap...Utter Crap...Getting relegated means missing out on the really big dough.( Which Brighton might be helping themselves to soon )

I think we'd be getting official inspections if we got more than 24k in the PL. We've only averaged less than 17k in the Championship twice as far back as the records I can find (2002/3) and both were significantly above 14k. Brighton fans are a bit hard of thinking aren't they.

Poyet has a touch of the neanderthal look to him

If he was s**t enough to just die out and let homo-sapiens proposer then what chance do we stand

I will laugh my head off if we pinch another Brighton manager! Last one we nicked did pretty well! Also Poyet has a good contact book i imagine. We would need to convince him that we have money to spend and that we are pl material in the making if we go down. The Brighton fans have no idea about our TSI takeover. AZ is slowly rolling out his plan. Out with the old in with the new. He may turn us down which may say a lot..

Like Poyet, nice football however sometimes I question the end product.

His teams can be a bit pretty pretty with nothing at the end. We will see.

The game at the madejski last year is a shining example of this. They could play it around and look handy all they liked, but they hardly made any actual chances out of any of it. The exact opposite of how we got promoted.

Keep our 'languidly clinical' finishers and add a bit of fluffy passing behind it, hopefully to open things up and make us more of a constant threat.

But going back to this, they make less chances a game, and take more shots per goal....

soggy biscuit Can someone register on that Brighton & Massive Albion forum and tell them just how underwhelmed I am at the thought of him becoming our new manager.

+1 I'm so underwhelmed that I couldn't even be bothered with that.
