The style of play was awful, and particuarly naive at this level, and you can't expect to lose two games at home to your nearest rivals and walk away scot free. I thought the Man Utd display was a lot better, and yes it lacked a cutting edge but as ED only had them for 4 days, what were people expecting? I am not sure if I would want ED as a long-term appointment (or more importantly, whether he would want to be?) but if we could pick up a few positive results then who knows where that will lead? Especially with Sunderland seemingly in a downward spiral.
I have no real concerns that we don't have a manager in place yet. We are not Wolves. We have not appointed the Asst Manager with minimal experience to a team on a downward trajectory. We have temporarily asked our highly respected (both inside and outside the club) Academy supremo to run the first team that already all but down, anything that happens could be a bonus. He is not inexperienced, he was not just sitting on BM's shoulder going 'Yes, boss!', he was running the Academy, and by all accounts seems to be doing a very good job of it. For me, after all this 'hoofball' this season I would be interested to see just how much silk ED would be able to extract from this sow's purse before the end of the season, if it came to that.
