mr_number I think everyone is going to give him a chance and get behind him, because ultimately, we all still support the club. There is a fair portion of people though who are still disappointed that we've made this change, and we've made it now, because Brian was a great part of the club.

WinnershSaint I am pretty sure he knew his departure was pretty much on the cards. His odd reaction after the Coventry game on the last day of the season spoke volumes.

SuperMikey . He's got bags of catchphrases ("on the bus", "in the building", "hard-working group of professionals", "one game at a time", "draw a blue line under it" etc) and i'm sure he'll do well for you.

IdealSHORT AND CURLY Hope he proves me wrong, but totally uninspired about this appointment.
Agreed. What the hell was the point of all this, sack the manager and then appoint one who did worse than him last season despite having a lot better players?
Absolutely underwhelmed!

72 bus This board was full of people expressing similar disappointment when McDermott was given the job, some really short memories around here.
Folks were slagging Mcdermott off for only being a Scout, Managing Slough, getting sacked by Woking ect.
We now get a manager with four promotions to his name who also gets his teams playing better football and the same folks still find something to be negative about.

I'm a big fan of non sequiturs and I'm sure he'll do well for us too.

Esteban It's not Adkins' fault that McDermott got the sack or that he was offered the job. I just hope that he is given a fair crack at the whip from the fans and the owner. The summer will be interesting.

stickywhisky Jay Tabb on talksport at the moment, he thought sacking Brian was an odd decision. Owner and DoF told him he wouldn't be offered a new deal.
He seems to think there might be an opportunity to impress the new manager and hopes to train with Reading over the summer
