QPR or Reading

by Delboy » 08 Apr 2013 16:49

As both teams are destined to go down, who has best chance of coming back up?
Whilst they have better players than us, but no salary reduction for relegation ( I bet the payers agents are busy ! ) who will stay? Not Harry Redknapp, Remy, Samba etc Townsend and Jenas are on loan, Zamora and Johnson finished.
I think with Adkins and some new blood we stand a better chance!

Depends on the summer really and the backing given to Nigel. We have the base of a very good championship squad and if we add some quality to replace the big earners (Pog) we will have a good chance of bouncing back. I don't buy into the argument that we need a massive rebuild in the summer. I think QPR will go up automatically and we'll be in the playoff's comfortably.

Jenas isn't on loan.

Almost impossible to say as their team is likely to be very different next season.

Tokyo Sex Whale Loic Remy has said he will stay as it is getting close to the world cup and he feels that he'll get more goals in the championship than the prem, boosting his chances of selection for the national squad.

Scoring goals in the championship won't be impressive enough to get him into the national squad.otherwise charlie austin will be in the england side already! He will be snapped up by a top 7 club in the summer. He is class.

QPR's performance next season is dependent on following a new philosophy in that the TEAM is important, not just having a lot of talented or hyped individuals. If they can keep half their good players, fill in the gaps and instil a team approach, they'll be justifiably one of the favourites. If they follow the same approach as this season and last and just try and buy their way out of trouble I think they'll struggle.

Us... totally depends on what Adkins tries to do and whether we can keep two or three key players and bring in two or three key players. If we can, we should be right up there. If not we may struggle in mid-table... or worse.

The current QPR side would beat the current RFC side by at least 10-20 points,
and, IMO would threaten the 106 record.

IMO they are a very good side with real, real quality, and if Rednapp stays
they will definitely come straight back up. I would make them 2-1 or 3-1 favourites
to be Champions.

Note, in the above, the words CURRENT.

Reading will improve this season, matches will get closer (tho' we may get 1-2 tankings)
tho that might not mean any/many wins... but next year looks good.

However, if Adkins is here for 3-4-5 years his plan may mean that next season is one of change
that could cost us promotion.

I think Adkins is good enough to take us straight back up but the team/team-play will be partly transitional
and we might be living on our nerves again for our fourth Premiership season.

If he really wants to change us as a team, with long-term survival the aim, he might have to sacrifice a first-season bounce-back

Tokyo Sex Whale Loic Remy has said he will stay as he's on shedloads of money with no relegation wage reduction clause in his contract.

No way Remy will stay at QPR ,Spurs would be one of many after him, to stay in the championship with 15000 crowds at QPR you must be joking!

Tokyo Sex Whale Loic Remy said that he looks at QPR as a club that will win the Premier League within 3 years time and would hate to play for a club like Spurs that have limited ambition whereby they will never strive for more than 4th spot.

Well he's a bit of a dick then!

Horrible team. Horrible manager. Best football moment of the weekend that equaliser yesterday.

No doubt he will weedle another £30m to spend in the summer (as is his only way) which will make them likely championship contenders whoever they buy.

Unfortunately it would be better for us if teams like Wigan went down instead - as they probably wouldn't come back up.

QPR will rape us several times over in every orifice next season.

I'm delighted we have Adkins and will be even more delighted when he clears out the deadwood and brings in some players.

It'll certainly be a very interesting season next season.

QPR, obviously. TF will fund the losses. They will sell the obvious players that will want to go, and then they'll buy all the decent players that we'll probably want but can't afford, and they'll go straight back up.

I thought about it, butsnowstat will inevitably argue that the current QPR team has only been in place since January when it's 8 points to 5 and that extrapolated over a full season is what he means. And there's no point trying to argue with that tosh.

Tokyo Sex Whale Loic Remy said that he loves the club and living in London is a dream.

Why on earth would anyone consider living in that busy smoggy monstrous God awful place with Britain's unfriendliest people a dream!??? only foreigners would say something so stupid to be fair...

no chance that will happen - he'll prob move to a decent prem or euro side, maybe PSG
