We've just bought Wayne Bridge, probably the biggest name in our history

The Telegraph are reporting he has signed a one year deal after a stringent medical. Good signing and one in the eye for Redknapp :-)

How fast is Bridge, being 32? I thought Adkins preferred fast-paced full backs?

The Goat was fed I'm probably the most in the know person on this entire board. Wayne Bridge will be a Reading player soon.

Not sure about pace but he does get forward well, from what I've seen at Brighton.

How much will Bridge be on a week? Certainly a very different kind of signing that we made last time we went down...

Random Brighton Fan We simply couldn't compete with their parachute payments income, which gives them a club income 50% greater than ours despite their fickle fanbase. Hence the interest in joining Reading by ££££ Gus back in the winter.

Brighton, the most die-hard fans in the world apparently.

Also I find it a little funny when any of them say 'bummer'.

Brighton supporters are hardly diehard fans either, and they call us a 'noddy' club :?

36 caps for England, over 120 appearances for Man City and Chelsea and also last year proved he's still up to it (Championship football at least).

Nothing against Brighton at all, but it's nice to see that we've outbid someone for once.

He's proven he still has the hunger after his performances for Brighton.

I just hope it all goes through when the window reopens! Would be very pleased with Kelly, Gunter and Bridge (all internationals) as full back options with a.nother youngster In the squad.

Good player, although will struggle against a spacey winger if left exposed.
