I like this man as a footballer. Managers hate this man as a problem but, whilst he's with them, they use him. What would RFC supporters today say about Robin Friday? I wonder if Drenthe (should he sign) might turn out to be a crowd favourite whilst the Management are tearing their communal hair out. I doubt all these rumours but, in a way, I would love to see it happen.

mumbo-jumbo As my mum would say, be careful what you wish for. There must be someone else who would also appreciate a presumably vastly inflated pay packet to join a promotion campaign next season, but who is also less of a prat? Entertaining? Exciting? Not sure.

Your mum says all that?

Yes she's very chatty my mum. If anyone needs any good advice you are welcome to give her a call. Just take along a small slice of chocolate cake or something and she'll be more than happy to help

I go to football to be entertained not worry about what any of our footballers do in their spare time, thats the managers job. Please let this rumour be true.

There's a shitload of If's and but's here temperament wise. BUT if we sign him and IF he's got his head screwed on, he could be immense. Not sure if he'll last the rigours of at 46 game season, but hopefully would turn up more than a certain Malian.

Will certainly give the opposition nightmares to man-mark, for sure. It could be amazing or the next 'Caricco' (though I hope he stays and proves to be a belter of a signing.)

It's all too much to take, I'm off to watch Cats with Cameras...

No mistake I want him to sign. But let's not hold him up as the messiah as that'll make it worse when he skips training come February.
I do have certain concerns about how committed he'd be on a rainy Tuesday night in Barnsley or Burnley. I hope by and large he turns out to be worth it though!

Not the "Reading Way"? Pah. We tried that last season and it failed. Miserably. This quite clearly smells of "Anton's Way" and I for one am excited to see if this comes off, this guy may be loopy, but he will bring a smile to the face of the fans if he's anywhere near decent form.

And lets face it, there's not exactly a huge amount for him to do in Reading that would let him go completely bonkers anyway!

Hopefully he'll do a Balotelli and give me £50 notes when I see him at the Oracle

This lads agent is going to have a busy few days ahead I'm sure. I just hope AZ & NH can up their long term vision spiel a notch or two and get him to sign if he really is flying in on Monday!

You think a Fruitloop like Drenthe won't find the Purple Turtle?

I've always followed Drenthe ever seeing have a blinder for Feyenoord just before he signed for Real. TBH he should still be playing for a top European team but his bad attitude and lack of discipline are the only reason he's not still playing in La Liga or even the Premier League. I for one am hoping this is true! he is a player that could win us games single handedly and we haven't had this sort of player for quite a while. Just hope he's matured a bit. Still wont believe it until I see it.

fruits The bloke is a loose cannon in a word a nutter.Has been a problem everywhere he has been.
Hercules of Alicante couldn´t get rid of him fast enough, drove through eight sets of traffic
lights in Alicante town centre when the police caught up with him he said he did it because he was taking a sick friend
to hospital. Went AWOL a couple of times, refused to play a complete nutter, certainly not the "Reading Way " type of player.

I just hope he doesn´t come.

I guess you'll just have to ask the girls he took to Everton's gym that.

It is just possible a year 1200 miles south of Moscow (and getting into his mid-twenties)
might have given him a wake up call.

But we do need 1-2 players like him/Kebe who can occasionally make a goal from nothing
