best Reading FC transfer window

by USA_Loyal_Royal » 25 Jun 2013 18:09

so far from my memory this has been the best overall transfer window in the history of the club! and we are only half way to the number of players AZ wants to bring in!

can you recall any better transfer windows than this?

we haven`t seen any of them play yet so this could be a bit premature to say the least, but greed it does look promising.

Very promising so far and it sounds like we aren't done yet. However some departures are inevitable, so we'll need to see who heads out too...

if we can get 2 more solid strikers (with the likely departure of pog) and an AM i think we will be in a perfect position to take the league by storm next year. (baring our players underperforming).

2 strikers out of the ones we've been linked with (hooper, rhodes, austin, gayle) along with alfie, blackman, and roberts and well be set.

^ This.

At the time it wasn't exactly over-whelming but in hindsight, it was easily our best transfer window yet.

Burns' "Magnificent Seven" was also pretty awesome too. Until they played.

Wasn't overwhelming? We broke £1m for the first time EVER with a hugely rated young striker. And bought one of the divisions better midfielders to provide cover for two of the divisions other best midfielders? I was fecking creaming my pants.

I'd say this is probably the most exciting transfer window so far.

Really intrigued as to what our starting 11 will be come 3rd August. May only be 3 players from last season in it!

I'd say McCarthy, Pearce & Mariappa are the only ones that will start at the moment.

Striker, back up LB & back up keeper if Fed/McCarthy go.

Not really sure on the 4th!

£6m would be enough to be able to secure talks with Charlie Austin...

...And if we were willing to put up £10m for Gylfi, perhaps sort of bid could prise Matěj Vydra away from Udinese??

Paddy Madden wouldn't be a bad signing as an exciting youngster to back up ALF / Pog / Roberts

If who we've signed are as good as their reputations (how often does that happen?) this will be our most ambitious window.

However, 05/06 definitely our best so far in hindsight.

I'd say most exciting. Just a pity we didn't do this last year!

And Chris Makin!
