tjmill Drenthe will play off main striker in a free role I think. Will need to keep Kebe and Jobi with Mccleary as sub. Sell Robson Kanu ESP if get 2m plus for him.

Albert Spangler We don't play with wingers anymore. We have three interchangeable attacking players in front of the midfield cover. Against Fulham, all three were wingers but they took it in turns to go through the middle. That's how Drenthe will fit in, by not having a fixed position.

I can't see mcanuff Getting in front of McCleary who is far more dangerous on the wings going forward

Ian Royal Even though McAnuff is still currently captain, played ahead of him under two separate managers last season, and has been our leading assister the last two seasons?
Just for the record, the FL website has Jobi down with the following assists:
2011/12 - 11
2010/11 - 7
2009/10 - 9
2008/09 - 8 (Watford)
2007/08 - 4 (Watford)
With Whoscored.com giving him 7 last year compared to McCleary's 2. McCleary got 7 the year before.
I'd really like to see exactly what you're basing that assertion on. I accept McCleary's likely to score more goals, but more dangerous? Goals on their own does not make him more dangerous.

Snowball So goals do nothing for the team, and assists do nothing for the team? Got it.
Thanks for the input.

maffff Do your stats show his wider contribution? We know he scores more, he assists less frequently etc.

Typical snowball reply, as blind as your statistics.

Don't forget McAnuff plays more minutes. McCleary's numbers are FAR better than McAnuff's
Second McCleary still has to hit his peak, McAnuff is on his way down.
2012-13 Prem - 17 (16) Appearances 1,579 Minutes 3 Goals - 3 Assists - 6 MCs - 268 Mins/Goal or Assist - 0,526 Minutes per Goal - McCleary
2012-13 Prem - 38 (00) Appearances 3,266 Minutes 0 Goals - 9 Assists - 9 MCs - 363 Mins/Goal or Assist - 9,999 Minutes per Goal - McAnuff

2011-12 Champ 040 (00) Appearances 03,516 Minutes 05 Goals - 10 Assists - 703 Mins/Goal, 234 Minutes/Goal or Assist - McAnuff
All Championship Games

291 (25) Appearances 25,648 Minutes 31 Goals - 51 Assists - 827 Minutes per Goal, 312 Mins/Goal or Assist McAnuff
St. Brynjar McCleary is a more exciting, faster player and for some reason the fans love him.
