SPARTA How can this be a non story when we already know Robson-Kanu and Pogrebnyak want to play at a higher level, and we have heard Carrico say he is in discussions with the club about his future? If anything one or two is playing it down!

I wouldn't be surprised to see McCarthy, Carrico, HRK and Pog go.

We also 'know' that Hal is in discussions over a new contract.

As has already been pointed out, this is a complete non-story, and it's pretty clear that atm there's nothing really in the pipeline with regards to losing 'two first teamers'.

3rd August can't some soon enough...

Why can't 3rd August come soon enough? The transfer window closes on 31st August.

Because hopefully when the competitive football starts people will stop looking to meaningless soundbites for some kind of..well..meaning

super darren caskey Its shit how players jump ship when teams are relegated, especially new players like Pog and Carrico.Granted Carrico didnt get much of a look in but Pog played lots of games. He played his part in our relegation so he should stay for one more season to help us.

What? you dont think players should be a bit loyal? rather than oxf*rd off when things are bad?

you mean like the same kind of loyalty fans show to players when they don't think they are quite good enough for them?

Think the sentiment is that players responsible for relegation should stay and try to put it right - ie player loyal to club.
Same as players that get promoted get the chance to prove themselves at the higher level - ie club loyal to player.

Should work both ways.

(everyone knows fans are fickle , so can't really bring us into it ...)

If you were a salesman, and your sales team had underperformed last year and you were now facing a significant pay cut would you stay on for less money and help them maybe improve next year because of "loyalty", or might you look around for a better job?

The players are simply like most employees who are looking for the best deal they can get. Especially if you only have a few years to establish your reputation.

Spot on! I think fans forget that players aren't supporters. Most of them just visit for a couple of years or so in a town many would not have known about before. Loyalty is for fans not for players or football management . Its a shame but thats the way it is.

Pray tell why you would like the most creative midfielder in our squad to leave?

I get the feeling McCleary's pretty frustrated. He hasn't played nearly enough imo.

BonBoh It could also be Adam Federici.

Playing at a higher level? Shouldn't it be playing at a lower level?

I always forget that some people didn't start watching Reading until we were in the Prem.

Feds is one of the top 3 or 4 keepers in the Championship along with McCarthy.
