Well, somebody asked.

We would have been 4 down in the first 20 minutes or so without Federici. They had it so easy.

Tried typing some of what Nigel said:

First of all, we have to applaud the supporters - it's not an acceptable results away from home.

What we have is group of players now, who have got to get themselves together.

We have a couple of days left of the transfer window, and I'll be speaking to the owner tomorrow - whether there is any movement there, I don't know.

Ramifications for Saturday - there are a group of players who didn't perform tonight, they'll be itching to play on Saturday. The players tonight will be feeling down, and we have to pick them up.

Tonight was an opportunity for the players to go and produce - fair to say that many of them didn't do that.

We don't just want to go route one, we have to get and pass the ball - perhaps some of the players found it challenging tonight.

Look at the goals tonight - poor poor goals, individual defensive mistakes they shouldn't be making.

Kebe was told on Friday he was playing [tonight] to save him travelling to the north west, he trained on Saturday Morning, left the training ground fit - come half past 8 on Monday morning, he has declared himself unfit. Read into that what you want. [do you know about he injury?] - who knows with Jimmy. I've been here since March, and he hasn't been available at all. I know a few clubs have been interested in him. As a manager, what can you do about that? Listen, Jimmy Kebe could have kept reading in the premier league. I'm disappointment he isn't fit and available.

[does the result have any bearing on bringing in new players] - no not at all.

[are you feeling under pressure going into the game on Saturday] - listen, we go away at the weekend, with a desire to get all three points.

Ok, sat in the station waiting for my train. Firstly, I had a great time. Expexted nothing, cared not a jot for the result. Good humour and singing from our lot. Mostly good natured until the end.

We were abject. Which is frustrating as most of those playrrs are good. Adkins played into Posh's hands. Poor tactics. Needed about 4 subs after 25 mins. By the time 50 mins came arond the only reason to make a sub was to avoid an injury for ALF. Not that he playd well.

Federici - 3 beaten by some superb strikes and made some camera saves, but his positioning was poor, weak on his near post and moved at the wrong time for the other three presenting a targer. From my view anyway.
Gunter - 3 awful, recovered well a couple of times but only after terrible mistakes. Was really playing as a winger.
Cummings - 4 marginly better than Gunter.
Gorkss -4 dire
Mariappa - 4 dire
Williams - 4 loads of poor passes, played CB half the time.
Akpan - 5 But only because I can remmber fuk all he did.
Obita - 6 sympathy score for being the kid amongst a bunch of chumps. Was not good.
HRK - 3 Uttrrly woeful.
Pog - 3 diabolical and missed the easiest chance of the night
ALF - 4 Forced a couple of saves but wasteful.

Adkins - 4
Fans - 9
Posh - 10.

If that is your interpretation of it then you are either incredibly thick or a liar. As has been pointed out to you, Adkins wasn't talking about Kebe at all (and probably wouldn't have done) until Dellor asked why he wasn't playing. If he had been trying to blame Kebe he would have mentioned him long before Dellor did.

This evening we were privileged to see a well-drilled team playing in blue and white (and even with a guy called Little running down the right wing) completely demolishing a set of apparent strangers. That team stands every chance of running away with their league, if they can keep their team together. It was like watching the 106 team all over again.

Federici is the only player from our team who emerges from that fiasco with any significant degree of credit, for managing to keep the score down to single figures.Otherwise we were out-played, out-thought and out-fought in every department on and off the pitch. Perhaps Williams did OK too.

I'd love to think that this and the result on Saturday at Blackpool were contrived by Adkins to force the hand of Zingarevich to fund some transfers, but actually I fear it's just a cock-up.

Given our proven technique of buying players from teams we meet in the cup (Akpan, Blackman), can we buy Assombalongo please? He was superb.

Peterborough were excellent, we were utterly rubbish. Nobody who started today deserves to displace anybody from the first team, and there are some who should never wear the Reading shirt ever again.

Sums it up very nicely.

On the bright side:
I only paid a tenner to get in as over 60 (feel sorry for those who paid full price & had a long journey up)
The drive home was very pleasant with very little traffic & I listened to some good music
