Pog massive wages, Guthrie - sizeable wages, HRK & Pearce increased wages. Drenthe, Bridge, Williams - increased wages.

Sorry but we just weren't spending that level of money under JM & to suggest otherwise is complete bollox.

CholseyRoyal Anton has been very quiet recently. Maybe ice hockey clubs are more interesting to him. How long before he sells RFC.

I'm not entirely sure, but I do know the lovely Mrs Zingarevich was expecting their first baby in August, so maybe his mind is elsewhere?

CholseyRoyal We have three new players, admittedly very good players but all on frees. We haven't spent a penny on new signings. We have also let several go to reduce the wage bill. Same old Same old!

Agree wheres all the money gone?????

On players wages. When will the mentally challenged on here come to terms with the fact we don't have an open chequebook?

Well if this lot manage to get us up which i doubt they will, they will come straight back down. High wages or not we need to invest in decent players especially if we are to play in Europe like Anton has us believe.

How exactly has Anton made you believe we are trying to get into Europe?

Maybe someone can resurrect the link from when he first joined us and the Saints fans comments.
If I remember rightly for the first half a season they were calling for his head and then suddenly they saw
the passing game which suddenly got results
I don't know why I'm posting on the team board because I've got more sense but we're Reading we're not a yo-yo club we're an old 1st division club who know their way to push for play offs and unbelievably 2 automatic promotions.
Adkins will get us there with or without Russian money
He's the right head for our club and the fact that a Russian investor has gone more heavily on the academy and grassroots side fills me with more confidence than most foreign intervention

Hmmm non of this is a surprise "The squirrel from the Wirral " is not a Reading man,his record with us to date is dire,he is an Arsey Scouser he just does not fit in here he clearly cant handle the squad he has inherited, he cant handle the press and he cant win football games, at least Brian had 13 years helping building our club and could win a football match when given the proper support, as for Aton " you fired Brian McDermott and you spent fcuk all " says it all. Lots more misery to come I expect.

I still can't believe that Southampton finished behind us when we got promoted, invested wisely last Summer to the tune of £30m (which is nothing in today's Premier league money) and successfully stayed up. A year on and they've reaped the rewards and have spent another £30m+ on 2 x players.....and then look at us doing it the "Reading Way" having spent £3.5m in total over the past 2 seasons and look where we are now losing 6-0 to a 2nd division team.
I was one of the unlucky ones to go to the Blackpool game and watched our 1st team play ineffective football and it was so obvious that we just aren't good enough and haven't invested enough in the team.

Those that think we will get promoted dream on, this just isn't going to happen with the squad we've got.

Given the references regarding Kebe, I suspect this is the "really" bad news and tonights result merely a symptom of deeper routed unrest in the camp.

This squad is under performing massively and tonights team was packed with those who have not been making the league team (plus Kebe was clearly fit for Blackpool but didn't even get a place on the coach (great piece of management that, Nige :| )

Could get worse before it gets better and Adkin's future is suddenly looking far from assured.

He's had 13 games FFS. You can't change the playing style of the club (without signing a new squad) in the space of 13 games. If he gets the sack we'll go back to the long-ball shite that McDonut served up for 3 years. Is that what you want?

We have the chance to evolve as a football club and develop our own brand of football but some of you want to throw that all away for short-term gain?

Much prefer us losing 6-0 to a team a division lower than us. Soooo much better than before.

What a bunch of poncey crap, and you are not the only one spouting it. Brand of Football?? Style over substance is what I'd call it. Arsenal have a 'brand of football' and look what its won them recently!?

I am perfectly fine with how we played at St.Mary's when we beat Adkins' team in the Championship in 2012.

"You can't change the playing style of a club in 13 games" - so why is he trying so hard to do so with this cold turkey approach? Why not play to the strengths of the squad now, and practise this 'new style' in training. That's what its for. As the team gradually adapts, helped by the introduction of some choice signings, we can evolve towards 'his style' in matches.

Change needs to be nurtured, not imposed. Imagine if a new manager came in to your workplace with a smug attitude completely changing the way things are done, without the prior training or time to adjust? Instead he is forcing square pegs in round holes and the players are embarrassing themselves in public destroying confidence further.

winchester_royal I think there's a reasonable chance Nige will leave of his own volition if things don't go particularly well in the transfer market over the next few days. Clear signs of frustration.

This is what worries me more, the fact he may walk, never mind being pushed. He needs time to completely overhaul the clubs playing style. Anton needs to be more honest. Big promisses, but less action, If there's little or no money, tell us! There may have been a lot of cloth cutting under the Mad man, but at least we knew what was going on. The next 5 days could shape the club for years to come.

Just a bunch of inpatient children. We are trying to create a style/system that can get us promoted and keep us in the Prem, it will take time. The alternative is to get a quick fix manager (Brian Mcdermott) grind our way into the Prem and come straight back down.

The fact is, if we sign a decent forward our first 11 will more than likely have us fighting in the top 6 anyway.
