Ian Royal If we want a chance at scoring more than we conceed:

.............McCarthy
..Kelly, Morrison, Pearce, Bridge
..............Guthrie
......Karacan.......McAnuff
..............Drenthe
...........Blackman, ALF

Same as Watford, but with Kelly in for Gunter. Harsh on McCleary.

Agreed, this is exactly how I'd start too...

If we play like we did that first half against Watford we will score a fair few... then it's a matter of keeping it clean at the back :|

My thoughts are that:
- Mariappa (motivation) and Gorkss (age) should not be considered for selection
- Post-new-contract-Robson-Kanu is rapidly joining Salako on the list of sponging left wingers
- Williams is not a defensive midfielder, we don't have one other that the injured Leigertwood. So go back to the diamond and use Karacan and McAnuff as hustlers, and we'll just about exhaust the opposition for Guthrie to nick the ball, as 1st half v Watford.
- Gunter has not worked out under two managers. Sell
- Blackman is a willing workhorse but his touch and shooting aren't yet good enough to play a vital role
- McCleary doesn't have Kebe or McAnuff's energy or work ethic, but has tricks, pace and a good shot on him. Stick him up the pitch instead of Blackman.

McCleary---McAnuff---Drenthe

Agree with this. Lessons must be learnt from Tuesdays debacle, and starting players like Gunter and Le Fondre, who we're meant to be leading that side as the two regular 1st teamers this year, just shouldn't happen.

Thought long and hard about this one. Get rid of everyone from the last game. Sends a message to the players! they have to fight for their position. Gunter out is a big one.. we have conceded every game he has played for us this season :P

Agree with this first XI, except Kebe in for McCleary please ( )
Then I'll have Cooper ahead of Sweeney, forgive Obita and have him ahead of Samuel, and have Kuhl ahead of D'Ath because he offers more defensively.

There are so many issues for Reading at the moment. A lot of square pegs for round holes. I would go

-------------------------McCarthy--------------------------
-----------Morisson----Mariappa----Pearce-------------
Kelly-----------------Guthrie-------------------Bridge
--------WIlliams---------------McAnuff------------------
--------------------Drenthe-------------------------------

One up front against Yeovil? We need to go for the 3 points.

St. Brynjar Right, where to start?

I'm guessing there will be no survivors from the starting XI vs. Posh, unless Kelly is still on paternal leave. Fingers crossed Kebe declares himself fit for this one, I'd hate for his Reading career to end on a sour note. I'd like to see this:

--------------------------McCarthy----------------------------

Kelly----------Morrison------------Pearce-------------Bridge

----------------Guthrie------------Karacan------------------

Kebe--------------------Drenthe---------------------McAnuff(c)

-------------------------Blackman-----------------------------

S'up with Kelly?!

Well, full backs who were terrible in the last match and a formation that didn't work in the slightest. I can't see that being a diamond with McCleary in.

#worried.
