We played quite well and I enjoyed the game. I thought we looked a better side throughout, although fair play to Derby that looks to be one of their better sides in recent times. Top half for them I think.

We caught them cold after the break with a positive start, the second goal was always coming after that and the otherwise lively McLeary messed up a good chance for a third. Then we got into a comfort zone for 10 mins or so, conceded a sloppy goal when Cummings ( ) and Guthrie both had a chance to clear. After that we defended pretty well. We had good shape throughout and looked good on the counter. McLeary and HRK showed enough to suggest that Jimmy 'Sicknote' Kebe won't be missed in the slightest.

genome We really are Derby's bogey team...

http://www.royals.org/recent_meetings.php?inteam=Derby

Yep, we OWN Derby so much that I thought about digging up the Clough/Taylor statue and bringing it home with me.

Our record at pROFLide Park is 6 wins and a draw from 10. Cheers! Derby have only ever won in Berkshire once (no wins at EP) and that was a rather streaky 1-0'er in 2005 (they reached the play-offs that season) courtesy of that RFC bogey figure Tommy Smith, who has Philliskirk and Andy Huntesque propensity for goals against us.

Reading 5-0 Derby was absolute skills of course. Cheers again.

" Reading had Alex McCarthy to thank for a string of first-half saves that kept Derby at bay. " Quote the Daily Star correspondent. Must have been
at a different game to the on I saw courtesy of Bein TV. McCarthy had one save in the first half other than routine catch the ball ones.
Very pleased for The Pog and generally a good all round performance. Baird seemed to slot in very nicely as well
Kudos to all the team

Football League show also showed them pulverising us in the first half. Neglecting to show McCleary continuosly raping their fullback, and a bl8nt handball in the box from Obita's shot.

Cheers lads, at home pog and hrk upfront or do you think we will stick with pog up top hrk on the wing?

I would be surprised if HRK was favoured upfront ahead of ALF in a partnership.

I think we'll see either one up or more of what we saw against Watford and Brighton with a sort of 4-3-3. Pog central, ALF drifting between central and wide as needed defensively and HRK / Blackman / McCleary filling out the other wide forward slot. It leaves us a bit narrow at times. I thought it worked best against Watford where Jobi could also drift wide from the midfield three. But we did fall apart a bit second half.

Sharp could be a bit of a game changer there though.

They didn't really perform last season though when played together?

Yeah, but we were shit last season and playing shit. We're not now.

Sat in the home end, our fans were in fine voice. Had McCarthy to thanks for first half. As others pointed out Guthrie gave the ball away a few times but is the heartbeat of the team. Baird was solid, Obita didn't do anything wrong, Mccleary was menacing down the flanks. For a big lad, Pog rarely win any headers but we all know that and forgive him when does the biz on the pitch.

On another note, was impressed with the home concourse, plenty of room to move, no queues for food/drinks or toilet. Shame it not like that at the Mad :-(

Probably because they don't hire the type of inept batty crease behind the bar that we do

I'm sure your average football viewer would much rather watch McCleary getting half a yard on the full-back than any actual shots on goal.

They made it look like we didn't touch the ball in the whole of the first half. It was very upsetting.

Good possession from the team.

They need to keep this up even during the bad spells.

If we eventually go up, this is the style of football that will keep us there.

Not my experience in the away end - I nearly missed our goal as the queue for food was so slow.
