The Tilehurst End the fact that all but Drenthe were signed by and for a Brian McDermott side

No they weren't. Cummings was a Rodgers signing and Pearce and Karacan made their First Team débuts under Coppell.

Very fair points, the spirit of the point was that only 1 was an Adkins signing but fair play!

Bit of fun but the FIFA 14 ratings for the 'Ultimate Team' have come out and we look at how Reading's crop are rated.

While the Jester looks at this year's team (in real life) and compares it to the squad that Brian McDermott had to work with the last time we won the division.

One of the more random titles to an article we've had.

How Bon Jovi Relegated Reading.

Apologies for the lack of updates here as I've been away, hence no podcast this week either.

Still, the website has continued in my absence with all of the Leeds and Brighton analysis and plenty of other bits and bobs.

Most relevant to today, here's the opposition view on today's game with Derby

Really good article. I think a lot of it comes down to formation. I'd have the same back 5 of:

--------------------------McCarthy-----------------------

Kelly------------Morrison---------Pearce---------Bridge

And then either go 4-4-2 and have:

McCleary-------Guthrie----------Baird----------Drenthe

--------------------Pog----------Alf/Sharp---------------

4-3-3 and go for:

-------Guthrie---------Baird-----------Williams--------

McCleary---------------Pog--------------------Drenthe

Or 4-2-3-1 with:

------------Guthrie------------Baird-----------------

McCleary---------------HRK-------------------Drenthe

--------------------------Pog---------------------------

Or something to that effect.

Cheers for the kind words Bryn.

I do think we're going to see horses for courses but I'd like to think that McCarthy, Bridge, Pearce, Morrison, Kelly, Guthrie, Drenthe and maybe Sharp, Baird or HRK will get past that 35 start mark!
