MouldyRoyal Out of those above listed, McAnuff v Cardiff, scything through their midfield and back four to put a cap on a fine win and off to Wemberley.

Same one for me. Best away trip i've been on especially the singing through the tunnels on the way back . Unfortunately the next match wasn't quite as good.

Doyle v Leicester, late on in the game and had the whole away end bouncing around as the results elsewhere at the time had sealed it and then getting the message to the players....

West Brom 2-3 Reading 2009-2010 Howard's goal in the last minute was great because it was the second time that year we'd done it in the F.A cup. It was also my first away game. Gylfi's goal was amazing too.

Away to Brentford, Boxing Day (or thereabouts) 1975. Bruce Stuckey, direct from a corner, with moments left. Saved the game for us at 2-2. We were 2-0 down with 15 minutes left.

Harper at derby for our first on relegation day.

I tasted another mans sweat in the melee.

Going by importance, timing and quality of goal Cureton Vs Brentford for me.

Can think of a few older ones but what about Glen Little Vs Plymouth in 106 season?

Dylan Kerr, Blackpool 1994.

Stockport were fighting with us for promotion and had games in hand but they had been held by Cardiff in the early kick off so any win would have been massive.

Dylan scored the opener in the first half, an absolute beauty of a curler form the corner of the area, the type of goal that would have got the MOTD pundits pissing their knickers had it been scored by Shearer or Cantona. Cue the shirt over the head celebration a full three years before Ravanelli kicked a ball on English soil as he charged towards the away fans on the cavernous wasteland that was the Bloomfield Rd away end in those days.

We absolutely ran away with it in the second half, won 4-0 and got a standing ovation from the home fans at full time. A month later we were champions as Stockport's challenge fell apart under the weight of games and they got pipped to second place by Port Vale.

Other than that, I would have to say Alan Pouton's 45yd own goal at Grimsby.

Extraordinary in itself but all the more surreal for the fact that the roof of the stand obscured the flight of the ball almost from the moment it left his boot until a second before it hit the back of the net. I'll always remember their keeper, near the penalty spot suddenly back pedalling with a look of panic on his face, the roar of anticipation from the Reading fans increasing as he flailed desparately for an as yet unseen ball before it re-emerged from the heavens, tantalisingly inches from his outstretched hand and nestled in the back of the net with a satisfying zipping sound.

Blackpool - What a great day out that was and brilliant stuff from the Blackpool fans.

This one is also a good shout - Forster vs Wolves in Play Offs. Shame we lost.

Doyle V Leicester was celebrated for about three times as long as any other goal, such was it's significance, so gets the vote for me.
ALF at Southampton to make it 2-1 was the same. Looking back, that game effectively decided the title and it had the vibe of a playoff game, except we didn't bottle it.
Harper at Derby on relegation day is a good shout as it actually meant a lot that day before Pompey spoilt the party by letting Fulham in
I find it yard to include a cup goal in these becaue they largely turn out to be insignificant, although Long at Liverpool, Gylfi at West Brom, and Bryn at Old Trafford get honourable mentions.
Forster at Wolves and Long at Cardiff were memorable playoff goals too.
Goals in league games with nothing really riding on them include Dean Morgan in the 90th minute to win at Cardiff in 2004, and Seol v West Ham in 2006.

Of the ones listed, Harper at Palace is the only one I was actually present for. Came minutes after Andy Johnson had won one of his trademark penalties and made me realise I was watching a Reading team that just refused to lose (for a couple more weeks anyway).

Pog's goal at Chelsea last season was quality. Guthrie's free kick that had us top of the league for half an hour was not a great goal but worth it for the half time lolz at the local numpties.

James Lamberts scuff against Wolves (1997??) was just lovely. The Pog's back heeled goal at QPR last season was terrific.
