People are quick to point out when Leeds lose. I'm doing a balancing act.

Bit ironic that a Chelsea fan is the one bigging up Leeds and their manager.

It was an decent performance BUT Birmingham were even worse than when we played them. Defended like strangers.

If we are both winning, I couldn't think of better news.

Chuffed for Brian.

Your other posts regarding the attendance allude to you being at the Madstad at the weekend. You seem very confused about where you belong. It's rarely at Stamford Bridge, that's for sure.

Some interesting thoughts on the McDermott regime so far from a Leeds fans:

It's a long piece and discussion of McDermott only really kicks in half way in but it's a well written lament.

Can't believe that he's described the football we played when we got promotion as "tika taka". He obviously never came to the Mad Stad.

yes - I've pointed this out in the comments!

I think the closest we have come to tiki-taka was under McGhee albiet still some way short

Yep

Interesting story about when we signed Kebe - he saw him once and he was fantastic, went back to Coppell and recommended him highly and Sir Steve asked him to go and watch him again just to be sure - Brian went back to France and he was terrible, and upon returning told Coppell he was fantastic again and should sign him.

So we signed Kebe because Brian wanted to save face, basically.

Although if we'd signed someone more likely to perform in the PL straight away, we might have stayed up. Doubly so if the same is true of Matejovsky.

Basically, what we've learnt from this and past experience is that McDermott wasn't good at spotting a PL ready player. But was amazing at spotting someone who could quickly be developed into a Championship star.

Although Coppell has gone on record saying he could have signed several PL quality players who may very well have made the difference and chose not to. So that's not really true.

If anyone can spot a finished article it'd be nice if McDermott could have produced a couple for the PL instead of Seol vs Fae, Cisse, Halford, Matejovsky, Kebe, Sodje, Rosenior, Bikey, Duberry et al.

It's ironic looking back at all the money we wasted trying to do things on the cheap.

I think we probably either got our money back or got our money's worth out of quite a few of those. They just weren't good enough (at the time they were bought).
