higher This ones got Darius Wdowczyk written all over it.
When all around were losing their heads during an opposition raid he with ice cool aplomb would acquire possession and send a 40 yard ball on a sixpence (oh the memories?). Well that's how I remember him and I`m sticking to it. Tidy man.

Agreed. Nobody else comes close.

AthleticoSpizz David Moreline

..agree here - was a monster at times (and had the requisite physiognomy  ) and never gave less than his all - same era - Alan Lewis?

+ I'd also vote heftily for Richie B too but his penalties were too good for him to remain as 'tidy' - always managed to swerve them away from the KP into the side netting - certainly I never saw him miss.

..and in terms of 'tidy' ... when called upon, what about Mick Kearney and 'big' Dave Shipperley though latter only made about 20 appearances in 2 years and not too dissimilar to Irvin G about 10 years later?

oooh oooh - just remembered ..... Colin Baillie (Simod appearance too)?

David Shipperly was very big but I don't ever remember him being particularly tidy or being that impressed with him to be honest although around this time we had Martin Hicks and Steve Hetzke who were both very good in their prime so maybe it was hard for him to shine. I used to have lots of arguments with my brother about Mike Kearney. I thought he was very ordinary but my brother insisted "he shields the ball brilliantly, like Kenny Dalglish". To be honest it was hard to take the Dalglish comparison seriously so I didn't pay much attention.
