6ft Kerplunk
Big Foot Ivar Ingimarsson at Bradford in 2004 - to this day, I still don't know what he did.

Was that the one where it looked like he was the one that got punched?

Windass should have gone, not Ingimarsson.

Mick Tait, v Torquay, I think.

Just dumped one of their blokes into the advertising boards in front of the southbank with no pretense of a challenge.

Ivar at QPR October 2009. 2-0 down to 10 men ( it was 0-0 at 11v11), 3 seconds into the second half Ivar sticks a leg out and picks up a second booking for it. Bye bye any pretense of a second half comeback.

Barry Hunter at home to Portsmouth in December 96 for absolutely nailing Mathias Svensson.

Dick Habbin's hairdo Gordon Cumming away at Brentford in, oooo, I dunno, '73? A solid right hook and wee Gordon just trooped off.

Michael Gilkes away at West Brom in c.'94. A solid left hook on that donkey right back that may have played a couple of games for England.

Oh, and Carl Asaba away at QPR just for the mirth and merriment at be able to give Rufus Brevett even more appreciation of his name.

Got to be Gordon's. Typical Scot.

Not sure about the best, but the one that pissed me off the most was Neil Smith away to Plymouth in the fa cup. I think it was in the late nineties, but it may have been the start of the 00's.

Kitson first game of the season away at Man Utd. The amount of abuse Evra got for getting straight back up after the red card was excellent.

M Brook April 1983 - Millwall (H). Millwall's Ian Stewart shown a red card for a terrible tackle but just point blank refused to walk. Did the police escort him from the field? Can't remember.

Yes he was escorted off - they went down to 9 men later on and still came back from 3-0 down to 3-3. Was round about the time Waller was trying to sell out to Maxwell.

jd82 Paul Bodin v Wolves 1997

Gareth Davies was at the centre of a bizarre incident on his Elm Park debut.

The Reading new boy appeared to take a swing at Wolves striker Robbie Keane. But referee Steve Bennett red-carded team-mate Paul Bodin.

Keane was felled by Davies but Bennett waved play on. Davies, obviously riled at what he saw to be play-acting, playfully cuffed the Wolves man, who rolled on the ground in apparent agony.

After consulting his linesman the ref dismissed Bodin, who hadn't even been close to the incident.

The referee said: "I will send my report to the FA and a copy goes to Reading. They are free to make a complaint if they wish."

Edit - was 97

Robbie Keane was about 18 at the time and something of an up and coming "star". Davies had put a crunching tackle on him and whilst he was sitting on the floor as play moved to the other end of the pitch, Davies ran past him and sort of ruffled his hair. Keane throws himself to the ground clutching his face. The linesman had no idea as he was running away from the incident, Bodin gets sent off because he was ginger. How we laughed. Bodin really was shit, but he was in good company in that team bless him.

The QPR sending off in that game was comical - a second yellow for taking a free kick too quickly. Unfortunately they scored from the re-taken free kick.

That game was a farce, the only reason we thought a comeback from 2-0 down was feasible was because we still had 11 men on the pitch, which obviously didn't last. I don't think we had an attempt on goal either until the late consolation was put in. It got pretty tense in the stand, with fans calling for Rodgers' head.

Simon Church away Bristol City - one yellow card for moaning at linesman about a penalty when a substitute warming up.
Second yellow card whilst celebrating scoring equaliser in injury time ending up in the crowd after Kalifa Cisse jumped on his back.

Percy Freeman at Reading v Colchester in the early 70s. Stuart Morgan, a big lump himself, had been kicking lumps out of big Perce all game. Perce finally had enough and picked Morgan up by his hair and threw him to one side. Straight sending off but what a cheer Perce got.

And we ended up being relegated by 1 point!

Anybody else remember the `great` Bob Hazell against Barnsley, 1986 I think ?

Platypuss Colin Bailie, right in front of the Southbank. Everyone could see it coming miles out.

That was against Derby in Div 2 1986/87. He absolutely clattered their right winger - Kevin O'Callaghan I believe. Even the Southbank chanted "off, off, off".

Gerald Lavin for Bristol City was funny but not for the guy in the East Stand who ended up with a fractured wrist.

I vaguely remember Bob Hazell getting a red when he was on loan for us in 86/87. He must have spent 5 minutes giving the ref a lecture after which, out came the card. I think the oppo was Leicester.

I was at Wigan when Hurlock got sent off for being continually fouled. The ref that night was garbage.

The most pointless red card I saw a Reading player get was Lawrie Sanchez when he handled on the line in a Freight Rover Trophy game away to the shite. Why get sent off in a meaningless game?

Was that the game when Paul Futcher got a red card? This was shortly after Ron Futcher had broken Martin Hicks' jaw. As he left the field he was serenaded with "You're brother is a w@nker".

McAnuff after the West Brom game

Bikey x2, headbutting a norwegian bloke in a friendly whilst on trial and still getting signed up made him an instant favourite

Billy Whitehurst at Blackburn. Was going to shout something to him as he made his way past back through the clear Perspex tunnel roof to the changing rooms but seeing the rage on his face made me think better of it.
