ZacNaloen
Nameless
Having said that from what I hear the situation is not really as some suggest and whilst AZ does have an issue it's not with SJM, RFC, the FBI or the KGB but with his father who has thrown a wobbly and temporarily broken off links. Hopefully like many family bust ups it will resolve itself and normal service will be resumed.

lol "Behind the Scenes" on twitter has just read this made up a bunch more to embellish it.

He lost me when he tried to claim Pog is on >50k a week

I would like to collaborate what Nameless has said. I recently made an ambiguous post in a thread on The Team saying we shouldn't be concerned too much, it would blow over, but the club couldn't comment on it because that would make it less likely to blow over.

I had a chance encounter with someone who is privy to such things and he told me exactly what Nameless has said. Apparently it stems from the friendly we had against that international side earlier in the season when things got nasty in the director's box. However, that could be me getting confused.

Anton's personal wealth is substantial in real world terms (i.e. enough to live very comfortably on for life if you don't own a football club), and is sustaining us in the short term, but isn't enough to finance a Championship side for very long. We need Boris.

Now this is me speculating- Anton is probably pursuing other business interests in Russia whilst trying to patch things up with his father.

That's a very old list RA is not even in the top ten these days.. Arsenal have the richest Russian as a shareholder..Alisher Usmanov

Usmanov isn't Russian.

LoyalRoyal22 Anyone not concerned with the current situation is deluded. All the signs point to Anton trying to sell his stake as he cant fund the complete take over. He hasnt been to a game in months, and not one interview!

Hope Sir John will fund the Cat 1 Academy/Training ground etc

Hopefully we still went ahead with getting the planning permission for the stadium expansion anyway so if we get a new owner he has it at his disposal and hopefully sjm can afford to hold the key players we currently have and invest a little til someone new comes in

Close enough as to make no difference:

Alisher Burkhanovich Usmanov (Uzbek: Alisher Usmonov, Алишер Бурханович Усмонов) (born 9 September 1953) is an Uzbek-born Russian business magnate. According to the 2011 edition of Forbes magazine, the oligarch Usmanov is Russia's richest man, with a fortune estimated at $18.1 billion, and the world's 28th richest person.

As regards the bust up. from what I have been led to believe Boris is bankrolling the club's deficit until the buy out (or give back) is completed. Perhaps that's why -if there is any fall out- they are not seeing eye to eye anymore..

Where do you think SJM would get money from to invest a little or keep key players? He's down a few million from not being bought out completely by AZ - he needs the money - he won't be investing anything of his own and we won't have much to spare after wages etc... :|

what is all this investing shit? an investment indicates a return, football does not get a return.

We are way better the way we do it, money in/money out, books balanced. Anyone who thinks different should look at Pompy and Coventry, we should never go down that road

Behind the scenes ‏@flyonthewallrfc

"Anton has been banned from coming back by his father. The full takeover will not happen.
They are looking to sell their 51% stake as soon as possible as Boris won't fund anything further as mentioned weeks ago.
We are also in your position that we might not be able to pay the players wages in January. Pogrebnyak is on £53k a week.
Very very worrying times indeed."

This guy used to be very reliable. I really hope on this occasion he couldn't be more wrong!

How do any of us know? It's always been rumoured to be around that, plus an apartment in West London. Anton brokered that deal, it's not as far fetched as some would like to believe. In any case, if this rumour was true it would make a bit more sense with Boris being the backer behind Anton and now retracting his support. (why though is the question?) We know Anton hasn't got the money to bankroll this wage bill, let alone to pay for a £2.5m a year academy, even less so fund a new training ground. (for now all the talk of the new training ground is just good PR until we see an official announcement the land is actually purchased, not just we have verbally agreed to buy it) If Boris has pulled out, that would explain the delay/failed buyout. Might not be true, but it would add up in that respect. Not being able to pay wages in Jan/Feb doesn't ring true though. Surely the parachute payments cover that, although they reach the club until the end of this season - which then begs the question where has the TV money from last season gone?

We've more than verbally agreed to buy the land, contracts have been exchanged.

The only thing that will scupper that purchase is planning permission failing.

Well JM knows, and based on what he was saying one drunken night in the hotel, there's no way Pog's on 53k a week
