Good on the fans backing Adkins. After that lousy comment last week from Dim, it's important he knows that not all fans are calling for his head. Some of us can see what he's trying to do with the average players he's got here.

Gorkss either scores or gets sent off / concedes a pen. You never know what you're going to get!

Unrecognisable according to Dellor. Maybe that's because Guthrie isn't playing!

Have they changed their tactics though - still trying to play pretty football and losing the ball or has Nige realised they just need to get stuck in, win the ball and push it up front?

My guess would be that without Guthrie, we're moving the ball to the wings and driving forward a bit quicker, but more directly. Guthrie's a great player to have if the team are in decent form and playing well in the right sort of shape.

But when no one is moving and everyone is just playing low risk / low reward balls and hoping someone else will make something happen, he's not the sort of player who can have much impact. Because his game relies on his teammates to give him options. So he just drifts deeper and deeper looking for the ball and ends up having no impact at all.

If I read that right....I agree. Guthrie is only any good when the rest of the team are already playing well

Think of Guthrie as a little like Harper. He accentuates the performance of everyone around him and acts as a multiplier of it to our overall team performance.

So when those around him play well, he takes that good performance and turns it into a great team performance.
But when those around him play badly, he takes that bad performance and turns it into a terrible one.
