He's not a holding midfielder at all, but neither is he an attacking midfielder. He's a playmaker who should be playing in the middle of the park with the rest of the team playing around him.

Can the stats provided be broken down further as a midfielder who is a playmaker makes the difference in the oppositions half?

How may of the passes per game are in Reading half of the pitch and backwards?

What is the pass completion rate in the opposition half?

Don't think so. But you're welcome to look yourself.

I think the best you'll get is key passes. Against Bournemouth Guthrie made 5, 4 more than anyone else on our side and more than anyone in Bournemouth's side. He averages 1.9 key passes a game for us, which is more than anyone else in the squad. Although four of our wingers also score above one a game (not McAnuff basically).
