Players out of contract

by Pepe the Horseman » 21 Feb 2014 14:18

Sutekh Player's contract negotiations are now all postponed until someone buys the club according to the EP today.

Anyone got a list of players whose contracts' are up at the end of the season?

Yep

http://thetilehurstend.sbnation.com/201 ... ract-dates

On last known information

Stuart Taylor
Nick Arnold
Wayne Bridge
Kaspars Gorkss
Michael Hector
Lawson D'Ath
Mikele Leigertwood
Jobi McAnuff
Jake Taylor
Jason Roberts
Aaron Tshibola
Gozie Ugwu

It's possible Tish and Ugwu have had extensions which were not made public. Hector and J.Taylor are definitely due to expire.

Thanks mafff, although that still involves doing some work. I'd like a list purely of the players out of contract this summer.

Ta. Assuming Tish and Ugwu have signed, Hector should be the priority there. Can see Jobi and Gorkks both leaving, despite their performances this season. Roberts is obvs finished, and would be surprised if we see Ledge again. Taylor hasn't really done enough in his cameos, although Adkins might see something in him in training. D'Ath hasn't lived up to his potential either. Don't know enough about Arnold to comment.

I can't fathom why any sensible person would allow Jobi's contract to run down

Couldn't care less about those in red, but the rest we really need to keep, especially when if we don't go up we need to lose some bigger earners as well. Pog will certainly go. We could be left with one striker and no left-backs, and that's before you consider everywhere else that needs improving. It's going to be a very interesting but unsettling summer!

It reminds me a little of Noel last season, although Jobi and Kaspars would both commit for just another year.

For some reason I could see them both staying if we stay down, but if somehow we scraped it and went up I reckon they'd be off.

He like many others will have to take a pay cut as well, so they may well find offers elsewhere more appealing - and with Jobi it's his last 'big' deal. He wont be short of offers in the summer.

Do we have a policy of not negotiating over 30s' contracts till the end of the season? Or have I completely made that up? Sounds like something I might've made up.

Do you have any say in it? Or is it down to Nige and Nicky?

I thought that I read on HNA? that Jason Roberts has retired. Why would he be on that list?

Agree with the sentiments regarding Jobi. He has to stay.

I'd quite like to see McAnuff switch positional places with Obita over the summer. I think there's a lot of promise in that partnership, but Jobi is coming towards the end of his career as a first team regular on the wing.

I think Jobi would happily see out his career here and I'd love that to happen. Absolutely worth a contract.

I agree with Sparta's choices in who to extend and who not to, apart from on Nick Arnold, who I don't know enough about.

We have a wage bill we cannot sustain at this level. You can't expect any contract renewals of any key players to be higher or even on the same terms? They wont. The likes of McAnuff and Gorkss, assuming he is also a high ish earner, will have to accept a lesser deal.
