I was just thinking that if Cardwell's first was Gerrard to Suarez or his second goal had been Gerrard to Sterling to Suarez, they'd be absolutely creaming their knickers over it.

Watched the game on LFC TV last night, complete with biased commentary, though that goes without saying really. That was the most dramatic Reading cup game I have ever seen! Not even the playoff finals were as topsy-turvy as that (though 2011 comes close). Fantastic effort by the players, and reaching the semis is an amazing achievement. I do actually think it's one of the greatest in the club's history, but i'm probably guilty of going OTT there. Poor show from Tim Dellor not to mention it in his sports bulletin this morning.

I do genuinely think we have a chance of at least reaching the final too as when Liverpool were 4-2 ahead I thought, here we go again, Liverpool will probably go on and win it now. Nice to get revenge for 2007!

Dellor hasn't a clue we even have an academy*, so no surprise.

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall of Dolans team talk for the second period of extra time.

Kuhls injury suddenly healed up and everyone looked fresh again.

Must have got the Adrenalin going.

Victor Meldrew As expected Harry Wilson was the star player tonight and looks to have a big future.

Only if they can coach out of him the waving of imaginary cards every time someone got within 10 yards of him - 16 yo ffs and acting the big billy bollocks already.

Great win, great entertainment and Mr Sweeting needs a proper job to worry about.

Out of order in my view. At that age it's not about stirring team talks. In fact they shouldn't have managers at all. Or goals, leave that for the seniors. Or Team sheets. There should be rolling subs and points awarded for keepy uppies or (spit) great tekkers

So do we know who the other teams through to the last 4 are?

Chelsea play Arsenal for the final.

And we play either Fulham or Huddersfield. Can't see Fulham losing.

Fulham are the best team at this level, we'll struggle to get past them.

No it's a two legged final, home and away.

I like how after the game they didn't bother showing our first two goals.

I recorded the repeat of the game, but I think the TV schedule wasn't adjusted to take account of the extra time as my tivo didn't take account all the extra time as it stopped immediately after their 4th goal.

They were probably instructed to cut it off there, before our hoofball ruined everyone's development.

sandman Thinking about it we must have a bad academy given that Liverpool have shown interest in two of our academy graduates in the past two years and their current first team manager played a part in setting it up.

Who are those that Liverpool were interested in?
Pearce himself was the only person in the world who thought Liverpool were interested.
