In a 1-1-1-1-1-1-4-3-1-1 formation? We probably could do with the extra bodies on the pitch

I think we'll be unchanged. I'm not sure Nigel has any other options. Thought we might see HRK introduced for the counter, perhaps in for G Mac if injured. Jobi will probably keep his place due to needing the work rate in a tough fixture. No chance of Guthrie being back before Burnley (H).

I actually think we'll win this.

Even Adkins wouldn't be as incompetent to field 10 men :?:

Then again, he has started Drenthe in some games recently so that has much the same effect I spose.....

You're right, ALF is like playing with 10 men most of the time..

Why not give Blackman a shot up front, he might win more headers than that Russian Donkey and he won't spend half his time on the floor

SCIAG Leigertwood's suspension and injuries to Obita, McCleary and Williams could put us right back in trouble. I liked how we looked in 4-1-4-1 though. Any word on those injuries?

Pessimistic side:
-------------------McCarthy----------------
Gunter----Pearce---Morrison------Bridge
-----------------Hector---------------------
HRK-----Taylor-------McAnuff----Drenthe
----------------Pogrebnyak-----------------

Subs: Feds, Gorkss, Kelly, Tshibola, Tanner, Blackman, Le Fondre

Best case scenario:

-----------------McCarthy-----------------
Gunter-----Pearce----Morrison----Obita
-----------------Hector---------------------
McCleary---Williams--Guthrie--McAnuff
------------------Pogrebnyak---------------

With Karacan in for Morrison (and Hector and Guthrie dropping back), that would be an excellent side and is what we should look to build next season's team around. Not that Pogrebnyak is likely to stay.

We sure would miss his goals.

It's a bit narrow, even if Guthrie and Kuhl are expected to play like wingbacks.

Pretty defensive line-up on our part with Hector and Akpan both in midfield with Williams whereas Wigan are doing what we did at Bournemouth going with 3 wingers in Maloney, MacManaman and Beausejour.
I'm not sure Maloney has played much this season so I hope he is a bit off the pace as he is a player that can cause a lot of damage and it will be a test of Obita's defensive qualities up against the useful MacManaman.
Presumably Bridge is injured again with Cummings being on the bench.

TBH that's what we need to do at Bournemouth after losing Guthrie and Williams. Keep it tight and Williams will be an asset on the break today.
