Wycombe Royal Really not bothered. There is a reason why two managers at this club left him on the bench a lot of the time.

We need the money more than we need him.

This, and this...

Maguire Decent finisher but otherwise a pretty average footballer. Not really bothered he's gone, although I wish him well.

...sum up my feelings on this one. I think he was always likely to go, money problems or not, as he doesn't want to be here as a second option.

Good finisher, wanted it on a plate each time though. I'll remember him for that 2nd goal at Southampton away in our promotion campaign. All be best Alfie.

A decent striker who struggled through some appalling "service" over the past season and a half. Will score a hatful with the right service to him.

Comparisons to Cureton are vaLOLid here. Fozzy was a completely different type of striker.

Err. Kitson and Doyle were both better than Forster. As was Long for half a season. And totally different player to ALF.

I can't tell how I feel about this on one hand a phenomenally good finisher, on the other he's fairly average in all other areas of the game.

1M for a championship proven, English goalscorer to a potentiaLOL playoff rival is a bit of a joke to be fair. 18 months ago he was spoken about being on the fringes of the England squad ffs...

Even with a year left on his contract it should have been closer to 2.5M imho.

I expect we'll take whatever we're offered - we're hardly in a negotiating position if we have no money and other clubs know that.

The 'we haven't any money' line never worked for us when we were trying to buy players and it certainly working against us now that we have to sell them.

Regardless of the weaknesses in his all-round game, Cardiff have got themselves an absolute bargain (didn't we pay £1M for Blackman?!). The club/supporters have lost out big time as a direct consequence of the bodged sale to Zingarevich and the way that it has been run over the past two years!

We only paid £300k for him so even if we 'only' get £1m for him this represents excellent business given he's in the last year of his contract. I don't think the price will have any reflection on our current financial situation - it's more that NA clearly doesn't want him here and the player wants a move for regular football.

Shirley we should have held off til later in the summer, when there could have been a potential bidding war and/or a new owner may have come in?

Taking it now seems crackers.

Forster was class, but Doyle, Kits, Cureton and even Lita have all been better than Alfie.
