Hi guys,

Boro fan in peace here. Just thought I'd pop over to see if any fans wanted to come over to our forum for a healthy debate on this weeks game! Should be a good one, and a game I'm actually going to myself. Have never been to the Madejski so looking forward to it. If you have any team news, put it on the match thread and I'll update. Best,

Juninho9

This game will tell us how far we have come under SC so far, IMO Boro are the best team in this league this season, we already played the 2nd best team at home and got thumped 3-0.
While we won up there it was pretty fortunate with the home side missing a hatful of chances.
looking forward to the second double in 2 home games .
2-1 win

Hey Royals fans,

Boro fan here how confident are you all feeling before the game?, Boro will play the same formation they have all season 4,2,3,1 formation probably look something like this -
dimi
freind gibson ayala kalas
leadbitter whitehead
reach vossen adomah
bamford

I think we defiantly should have enough in this squad to get a draw out of this game, i think Clayton missing out of cdm on sataday will be a big miss for us but i still think we might scrape a 2-1 win out of this game but i believe it will be tight and the more likely result will be 1-1 draw this weekend.

Boro have had a very tight defence this season, only conceding 17 goals so far in the Championship . We now also have a "Defence of Steel". So I wouldn't expect anything other than a 0-0 draw. If we squeak it by a lone goal and get the three points, I'd be very happy.

Not at all confident.

We've beaten a good Norwich side twice. We nullified Bournemouth in a poor first half then fallen apart. We matched Derby before committing defensive Sepouku three times for no explainable reason. We're defending far better as a team now, but we've lost half our main goal threat and the other half is likely to be diminished by that as well.

Our last four games have been:
Match Watford - miss a hatful of chances, concede a sloppy goal
Tear apart Brighton, fall apart in the last 50 minutes to give up a 2 goal lead
Comfortably beat Norwich stifling their attack.
Sneak a win in the cup against Huddersfield in a dire game of 1 shot on target. For both teams combined.

Expect us to be tricky to breakdown but probably lacking in any goal threat. You;ll probably still score though.

0-1 'Boro

Fook knows what our attack will look like but the back 7 should be straight forward. 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 probably.
Federici
Gunter, Hector, Pearce, Obita
McCleary, Norwood, Williams, Robson-Kanu
Mackie, Cox
?

Clayton got himself sent off on purpose so he didn't have to play against the club he loves.

0-3 again.

Boro are simply much better than us at the moment.

Agreed - and the SC fan club will come down with a bump. (Hope I'm wrong though)

Not expecting anything out of this game, just hoping to avoid a drubbing, I'd be satisfied with a narrow defeat if further progress is evident. i'd be very happy with a draw. A win? Well, let's not get too ahead of ourselves yet.

A quick question to Boro fans. From the outside, Karanka seems to be doing a brilliant job. Are you worried that some clubs (and i'm thinking of those lumbering oafs in black and white up the A19) might be taking an interest in him?

Hec is well overdue a shocker. Lack of presence up front means we'll struggle to keep any sort of possession against a good Middlesbrough side.

Still think we'll win though. 8)

boro fan in peace, haven't really seen much of reading this season to be fair, i think it shows that you are not having the season you were hoping for?

with regards to the game i see a tight 1-0 win for us to revenge the home defeat earlier this season. if you are struggling with attacking options coming up against the tightest defence in the league doesn't help.

in reply to if AK is off to the barcodes, i doubt it. he has a working project at the riverside and can't imagine seeing Ashley as a boss as a big swaying factor. i think whoever takes over will be foreign though.

good luck fo the rest of the season after this weekend

on a different note i was asked to answer who was readings all time top scorer to register? the answer of Senior is not correct as surely Tony Macphee(including his pre-war goals) is you all time top scorer?

You are correct although, if you only count Football League goals, the answer's Ron Blackman.
