Haag Royal Just don't buy this "meaningless" game theory.

It's not meaningless if:

- you support RFC. We want to win don't we?
- you are playing for a contract next season (unless you don't want one)
- you believe that momentum into next season matters
- you are Steve Clarke who's current league record is an utter shambles
- you support Fulham or Wigan
- you, like me, are waiting to decide on whether it's worth forking out over £400 for a season ticket
- you give a f**k (please read HRK)
- YOU DON'T WANT TO LOOK LIKE A TEAM THAT IS NAILED ON FOR RELEGATION NEXT SEASON

Haag I'm with you. I was joking. I want Clarke out as much as most people.

"Most" people do not want Clarke out. "Most" people recognise that this job, clearing up the mess left by the Russian and the man the Russian appointed as manager is a difficult one. "Most" people realise that this is Reading and not Real Madrid or some South American club where you get rid off the manager because you've had a bad month or two.

Shall we go back to the shambloles at WBA before he left and the shambololololole  s hes had here since he joined?

Williams injured?

And before people start apologising for Clarke, this is still a strong team (by our standards). Only Pearce and Feds would realistically come in and make that stronger.

Looks like Pearce and Feds are off.

marlowuk

Anderson
Gunter
Kelly
Hector
Cooper
Chalobah
Norwood
Karacan
Obita
Pog
Cox

Subs: Feds, Pearce, Mackie, McCleary, Stacey, Blackman, Appiah

Odd line up.

Keeper OK (and might be No 1 next year)

Back four not too bad, more experience for Cooper, is the manager thinking of Obita LW next year?

Middle 3 is strong, but just the one almost-winger

is it going to be 4-3-3?

Yep, and certainly in the case of Feds a mad, shortsighted and ultimately expensive (in money and probably points) by the suits upstairs.

Mind you, Feds coming off the bench would be more likely to score than the two strikers that Clarke signed on loan in January!

Clarke getting an absolute hammering on BBC Radio Berks by callers. Momentum growing it seems.

I don't mind him ringing the changes and having a look at some fringe players...if the cull is as big as some suggest...however, what really annoys me is the constant formation changes...no wonder we struggle in games, this shambles of a squad can't even score let alone work out some overly complicated Chelsea-esque formation which will change from game to game...

We are a million miles away from being able to play any kind of fancy coaching manual textbook formation...why can't he see the players just aren't upto it...we should be playing a basic formation that they understand...look at how the likes of Millwall and WIgan have picked points up recently by going back to basics...

Guy on BBCRB just said he things Steve Clarke could be the next Steve Coppell.

Are our fans the most uneducated fans in football?

Caller - Clarke is the next SC
Adie - Do you think that Adkins should have lost his job?
Caller - Yes
Adie - Adkins had a better record than Clarke
Caller - yeah but but but erm ahem

Constant formation changes was one of Adkins biggest problems too. SSC and BM kept the formation. If a player was injured or needed resting, they just changed personnel, not formation. That way everyone knows their role in the side. Did Clarke work under the Tinkerman at Chelsea by chance?

Second part is spot on - a good manager would get back to basics and pick up some results by hook or by crook,

Oh and the bit in bold made me spit my delicious Czech beer out

That did make me laugh sorry. As for the Chelsea "connection" Lukaku cost us £5m in loan fees so don't expect cheap favours and ffs hide Kalou's mobile number

.

He wants to work out which players are adaptable, as that is one of his biggest doubts about the ability of the players in this squad, and which players are not adaptable, hence the formation changes.

Nothing to do with being clueless and not having any idea about what formation to play then?

We're not Barcelona FFS. No need to over complicate things with adaptability's.

Sorry I forgot, a manager with any kind of credible record/background would come in with a formation/plan in mind.
