It seems unusual to say but I'm not actually sure about this one. Al Habsi used to be pretty good but then from what I remember became far more prone to mistakes, I remember one howler that came against us in a Premier League game I went to when he played for Wigan.

He wouldn't be my choice now to be honest but maybe I'm being a bit unfair, he could end up doing well here.

Clever move by Clarke. Get him on trial (free) while we chase other targets. We have a keeper for our tour, we can suss him out and if we cant get one of our other targets then we have a more than capable keeper on the cheap until Jan.

Also frees up cash for signings further up the field.

I quite like Al-Habsi. Not indifferent to Federici in some ways in that he'll pull of a string of spectacular world beating saves before letting in a howler.

Pure speculation: IF the Myhill chat has some grounding in reality, would Al-Habsi not make a decent stop gap until January when Foster should be back allowing a re-evaluation then?

Federici is a much better keeper than this clown. Several years ago my kids and I nicknamed him Al-Dropsi. It used to be quite funny watching him make mistake after mistake on MOTD. Probably won't be quite so funny when he's the keeper in our team however . I think all the Fed's haters on this forum will be wishing we still had him come Xmas.

I think you'll be sadly disappointed on that score. Feds was a good keeper but nothing more. Al-Habsi is very similar and has a mistake or two in him, just as Feds did. If we sign him, I'll not be jumping for joy but I'll not be disappointed. Just like Feds, he'll do a decent job in the Championship.
