To answer the question:
Gooding

honourable mentions to Harps and Ledge

Parky is still my fave Reading player ever but I wouldn't call him a heartbeat.

Harper. I'd say he was the heartbeat of the 05/05 team. Only 14 then and he was my hero.

Sidwell is fine as the children's choice, the older fans though, especially those saying gooding need to rethink everything the believe to be true. Gooding was great, brilliant energy and good technically. But Osborn was the player who completely dictated the play and was a class above the rest of the team.

Got to agree with Simon Osbourne but think a special mention for Aidy Williams as he managed to play in every position 1 to 11 and also not forgetting one FSB, Mark Mcgee....

Mick Gooding obviously, but Reading were a completely different team with and without Simon Osborn. He completely set the tempo of the team with his passing.

Parky, Sidders, Harps and Bowman are good shouts as well.

Richie Bowman, or even Dick Habbin at one point.
