biff I feel that the marketing and attention the Thais are courting says a lot for their intentions. These guys are connecting the club with some high profile names in Thailand, and seem genuinely proud to do so. I dont think theyd go through the rigmarole of advertising us as a big footballing entity and then f()cking us up infront of their home media.

Fine. Good. Shame that it took 10 months or more of almost complete silence before we got any inkling whatsoever of what their plans might be.

Maybe they thought they'd get their plans sorted before allowing inward looking fans to start being negative about them.

I was just making the point that the Thais could have avoided some criticism if they had come out and made some statements and showed a little more transparency a hell of a lot sooner. Until the last few weeks we didn't even know who the majority shareholder was. They should have realised and respected how the fanbase has had its confidence in ownership shaken somewhat by TSI. A good bit of PR a few months ago may not have resulted in season ticket sales plunging as they have.

Is that too unreasonable a viewpoint for you sycophants?

That's not true, there was an interview months ago where he said he was 50% shareholder

It was announced at the time of the formal takeover in September 2014.

Suspect any drop in season ticket sales can be better explained by the utterly dreadful football served up in the second half of the season and our worst league placing for a decade than our owners only giving two detailed interviews in a year. If we'd stormed up the table under Clarke, then nobody would care that they're not all over Get Reading every week.

An FA cup semi final appearance with 30k fans there seems better PR than a vague interview with one of the owners.
Especially as the likes of Ffloyd would have ignored anything that was said and kept up with their whinging anyway !

Has anyone heard what ST sales were anyway ?
If Ffolyd says they plummeted I'm assuming there was a slight increase in take up....

Presumably season tickets are still on sale , and the recent developments will be causing a rush at the ticket office....

Imagine he will look around and see if can get a first choice slot elsewhere. If not and the offer is still open then he might re-sign with us before the start of the season.

Doubt he could tbh, now he's walked away we know that he'll only come back as a last resort so we can offer him very low wages.

Is it just me or is Steve Clarke really saying that he would like someone to come in for Pog (and Cox)?

Hope so. (more Pog than Cox and get those ridiculous wages off the wage bill)

With Anton Ferdinand returning to fitness and playing a full part in pre-season, it's almost as if we've signed another experienced CB. Let's just hope he doesn't get injured again ....

Lacoste

Realistically, now that we have signed two keepers I think we're ok in that position and we have now signed 5 players

I think there will be more to come, and in an ideal world I would like to see the following happen.

I haven't included up and coming youngsters, if one or more break in this season then that would be a bonus IMO. I think Fosu and Tish will be the most likely.

Signings

1 x CF (unless we sell pog, in which case I'd want two)
1 X CM
1 X Left sided player
1 X Right sided player If HRK goes

Sell

Pog
HRK
Cox
Blackman
Akpan

Loan

Youngsters who aren't quite close enough to the first team yet like Kuhl (Maybe he'll surprise)

Unfortunately this will still leave us short at full back however it would be good if we could re-sign Kelly on a one year deal on lesser terms and that would give us some extra cover. If we do sell HRK then a replacement right sided player would be great. (I would sign one anyway to be honest as HRK is shit)

I think this would actually count as a summer rebuild and depending on the players coming in, would make me very optimistic about next season.
