Can't see any points for anyone but the Brummies I'm afraid.

We're not ready, strong enough and have forgotten how to win - it's a bad habit to lose and most of last season's better players have gone.

oxf*rd knows why Pog turned down more money to go back home as we needed his wages to entice others.

He doesn't give a shit about Reading but I reckon his bird loves English life - I mean have you seen her? You can eat here luv - it's not rationed!

4-1

Donaldson to bag a hat trick. Maghoma with the other.

Williams with ours leading to shouts he can be our no 10 behind the 'strikers' this season...

If Hurtado signs he will score a record 10 goals & Royals to win 4-11.

1-1.

They're not a good team at all but I don't think we're that much better. Whoever starts up front to get the goal so I'll say Pog. Red card each as well for an over zealous first day tackle and reaction.

The start of the season is the time to be optimistic, I've got a feeling we could spring a surprise. (And I'm going to the game)

Birmingham 1-2 Reading

Reckon Donaldson will open the scoring for them (because its sods law) towards the end of a drab first half, however we come out for the second half looking much more up for it and nick an equaliser through Williams. Then I fancy Samuel to score a late winner 8)

Come on UUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I'd take a draw and I think that's what we'll get.

Solid defending combined with a lack of potency up front, and it'll finish 0-0.

A point on the board and a solid building block for the start of the season.

Failing that, we fall to shit and lose 5-0.

One thing is sure we will not score, unless we sign Drogba or a proven goal scorer by Saturday.
Last season we scored a grand total of 48 goals in 46 games, 8 (under Atkins) from Cox who will not get a game because Clarke doesn't rate him Murray scored 8 , no Murray type deal has been arranged this season. That's 16 goals, 48 -16=32, Sa has been signed ok he isn't fit but looks nothing special giving him the benefit of the doubt he might score 6 goals all season, 48-16+6= 38 goals.

The goalkeeper situation frightens me to we have a goalkeeper who can't distribute the ball and is an accident waiting to happen.
Bond is one for the future but another accident waiting to happen at the moment.

I just hope Clarke has some rabbits up his sleeve and can get some good loanees in.

Churchill said I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering.

You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: Victory. Victory at all costs—Victory in spite of all terror—Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival.

If a football team has very few Victories during a season result a permanent fight against relegation. 38 goals in 46 games isn't going to give many victories.

Birmingham 0-2 Reading

Believe Bond will start and he is a lot better than people think. Also I'm more confident with the spine of our team. McShane, Hector and Ferdinand with Cooper in reserves is a good situation to be in.

Quinn and Williams is also a strong central midfield. Its the wings that concern me with McLeary out and HRK really not being bothered. Sa will do alright as well.

I feel our activity in the summer is good business, but we could do with one or two more quality players. I think we will get them too (including finally a replacement for HRK, the weak link of this football club at the moment)

Reckon we will draw this 1-1 in a cagey encounter, Norwood direct from a free-kick.

And still we struggle to create let alone score anything so looks like it's going to be a long hard struggle at least for the opening games. If we get 1 goal it will be a miracle so let's hope the defence is rather better then the disorganised rabble Adkins sent out at St Andrews last December to give us some tenuous hope we might get a point.
