Shame, i liked the chap. As alluded to above, not worth the wages, but, one of the more talented the club has had.

My fondest memory of him is when he was told that the crowd were chanting for him (Big F*cking Russian song), and he later explained in another interview, a bit emotionally, how much it meant for him as the normal chants were for Le Fondre.

well 20 post as i type, and not a single one abusing him.
Pog was a bit like marmite for me, either you love him or you hated him. nothing in between.
personally I liked the guy , but it`s better for all sides that he`s now gone.
The haters can find another target which I`m sure they will.

Good luck Pav, it was a bumpy ride but you came through unscathed.

The haters had already found their targets the moment Pog was out of the team: Step forward messers HRK and Blackman!

Sad to see him go in a way but clearly it suits everyone involved

Contributed a lot and will always remember him for the winner at home against West Brom in the 3 - 2 win

Wish him all the best

Glad he's gone.
Liked him but costing us a fortune and not A goal scorer.

Guaranteed we will have someone lined up.

Happy days

winchester_royal Great move by the club, as much as I liked the guy, he simply wasn't worth the money we were paying him.

In just a few games Sa has shown us exactly what we've been missing in terms of hold up play and ability up front, what we need now is a poacher to get the goals so if this goes someway to us being able to bring one into the club then fantastic.

Cheers Pog.

+1

Best of luck Pog

I would assume this means we have someone lined up, as Clarke says we need strikers, so selling one doesn't really compute.

Agree - Xmas come early!

If he was on £10k a week I'd be sad to see him go .... but he wasn't and was a waste of money for what he was earning.

For those assuming that we 'have a striker line up', I would remind them that we have learned on many occasions to our great disappointment that having a player 'lined up' and having a player 'signed up' are two very different things.

Bit dissapointed... I was eagerly anticipating his return from injury as could see him having his best season at the club in terms of goal return with the supply we'll have in a few weeks (GMac return to fitness and blind faith Hurtado will be a world beater)

On the plus side the wages freed up will hopefully allow for some further movements in the forward department before the transfer windows slams shut but did we get a fee off the Russians for him??

Yes, thanks for that RB, but how about we wait until the window has shut before slagging off the club?

Slagging the club off is a year long exercise, can't just pick and choose when to do it.

I was expecting this two years ago. Then a year ago.

Now, it's a bit of an anti-climax. I'm glad, I guess - I just hope we sign a replacement.

Samuel's out for at least six weeks, so our only experienced strikers are Sa, who is still largely an unknown quality and doesn't look like a lone striker, and Cox, who looks well off form. If we don't get someone in, we'll be looking at Blackman, Liburd and Novakovich.

Any transfer fee involved? Or just a gift to the Russians?
