Niko
blueroyals As long as it's a loan deal then I'm happy. Don't want to end up with another Drenthe/Pog/Bridge/Guthrie.

He has a 45 million euro buyout clause. So it'll be a loan.

How you work that out?

In some leagues players have to have a buy out clause - so the club sets it really high to put clubs off but it doesn't mean they won't sell for a much lower fee - after all if the player is for sale he's for sale.

As far as I'm aware, it's always been mooted as a loan.

Also, Watts on Twitter says this deal is also awaiting confirmation from the club along with Vydra, so hopefully both deals are done.

These loan deals are all well and good and seems as though we've aquired some usefull players. The thing that worries me is that in a years time we will not only be back to square one regarding strikers, but also minus a centre half......assuming we are able to loan back Hector.

I suppose this is the new way you get out of the division. It does make me slightly uncomfortable, but it's outweighed by the excitement at seeing these players turn out for Reading.

A few comments from a huge thread on the Benfica website:

A player with no desire to work, to do better and evolve.

Be happy... Freddy Adu v2.0 - talent 80 head 8

Looking at the current squad, will be missed if leave ...

A brutal mistake. I always liked this player, even with its quirks, and being a little annoying at times. But I also knew solve! No longer had room, unfortunately.

They say Freddy Adu v2.0..to me it seems very Royston!

Coming from a Benfica fan on reddit, he certainly sounds like a younger version of Drenthe:

He was a Great prospect and had alot of potential, but hes one of the laziest players ive ever seen and mentally not there. Doesent make plays, slows down everything, super predictable. He scored a great goal against Leverkusen in the EL, but that was pretty much it. We gave him many chances but he was an ultimate disappointment, followed by a failed loan spell. He started for us this season, and even though he played slightly better, it still was just not good enough, with his work rate still being somewhat poor. If he finds some of his potential, hell be great, but he really needs to work harder

Haven't we filled our quota of 5 loan players now though?

Fernandez
Piazon
Hector
Vydra
Taylor

We got excited about Royston coz he used to play for Madrid and he was crap ...this guy may a 45 squizillion release clause but I've never heard of him before so if it works then cool of not then get shot of him ...he's not going to be on Roystons wage ...I think what I'm trying to say is the club must see some potential or they wouldn't be interested. ..you can't base your assumptions on one dudes opinion for instance on another thread on here Garath McCleary was getting slated ...I genuine didn't get that ..so we'll wait and see eh?
