Nameless I would imagine Clarke will be a rather different manager now. He's got a significantly better group of players with the balance of skills he wants and a clear objective. Last season he was juggling a weird mix of players with no proper target beyond avoiding a highly unlikely relegation. I know some posters don't rate him, I think he's making the right moves and his proper tenure starts now....

totally agree with this. This is his squad now and where he envisaged he would be realistically as manager

janesdaddy For me, McShane was the weakest link last Friday. Didn't he have some sort of thigh muscle problem that prevented him from playing for Ireland during the international break? He's normally so good (based on a limited number of appearances so far). Maybe time to rest him for another match?

yes he had a back problem so wasn't 100 per cent i was actually surprised to see him start, he did actually hold his back at one point during the first half. Lots of people didn't realise he was playing with a slight injury and i think that was why he was slightly off the pace, but still played well in my opinion considering.

Sometimes I'm truly glad some of you aren't the manager.

It would be interesting how many goals we'd concede that's for sure...

He did play well considering, but he drifted out of position too much to clean things up, probably because Williams wasn't in there doing it for him.

I think it was as much to do with how McGoldrick kept going deep to collect the ball for them and McShane following him

Changing the starting line up would be crazy. Harsh on Williams but the midfield looks better without him in it.

We should re-balance the bench - there's no sense having four forwards there.

Subs: Al-Habsi, Hector, Taylor, Williams, Piazon, McCleary, HRK/John/Hurtado

I think hector will come in for McShane. Derby have a front line with pace and if our captain is still not 100% fit (it showed on Friday) then our vice captain Hector comes in for his pace and he's more than capable. McShane on the bench.

That's the only change I would even consider, unless another injury came up.

Hector's not been in very good form for a while but I'd rather play him than an injured McShane.

So Tish puts in a superb performance and is dropped from the entire squad. :?

Yeah I certainly didn't forget him... Clarke said not to put to much pressure on young players..

Pepe the Horseman I'd have Taylor on the bench I think. Was a bit worrying when it looked like O-Beats was gonna have to come off. Spose we'd have gone Hec at RB and Gunts at LB.

I had the same concern. I don't see any necessity for John, HRK, and McCleary all on the bench. We have too many wingers.

Clarke would not seem to think of HRK as a winger any more.

Fair enough, still think we've got to many. Remember when Fosu was going to be a key player/regular starter?

Same line up as Friday, however use the formation from the second half.

Have Tish just in front of the back four and Quinn on the left.
