If he was 55 not 35 neither of you would want him.

People get puppy eyes over younger managers but realistically, Monk has done nothing that makes me think he's a good fit for us.

It's common for a manager to have a good first season of the back of work by the previous manager before they start to bring in their own players and their own tactics/ethos starts to take hold and form starts to dip. Monk/Clarke at WBA and even Roader at WHU a few years back is testament to this.

Monk has done absolutely nothing to suggest he is going to be a good manager.

You've been tricked by the sky sports "young up and coming manager" rubbish.

Sorry

We'll agree to disagree on that one then.

Ian Royal I mean, you were pretty positive about Clarke for quite a while

Well, he wasn't Nigel Adkins was he?

I guess that means the new manager just needs to not be a treacherous pcunt to be an improvement on SC

Bergkamp please -
One of the best football brains ever
Intelligent and articulate
Massive credibility - who wouldn't want the opportunity to play for him
The Dutch seem to be churning out some top managers (eg Koeman)
This would be a great step in the right direction for RFC

We need to think logically about this.

Realisitically we will be in Europe in 2 seasons, so what will we do then with a manager who is scared to fly?

Would be happy to have Bergkamp here for a year or two, before he takes the poisoned chalice of succeeding Arsene....

Maybe a gamble/out of our leauge but Nuno Espirito Santo the ex Valencia manager would be a decent appointment.

51% win ratio.

No, he was worse, although you disagreed with that pretty vehemently for quite a while.

How about if Swansea sack Gary Monk in the next 48hrs, he would fit into the Reading way? And he can bring Siggy home with him too

Knowing us we will bide our time, lose a few more games, panic and appoint someone like Iain Dowie

Lacoste So let me get this right

So some of you want Dennis Bergkamp because he was a great player and you've heard of him? Even though he has no managerial track record at all let alone in the Championship which is well known for being a bitch to get out of. But you've heard of him.

You don't want Pearson, a manager with a successful record in this league because the BBC made a mountain out of a mole hill last season.

We really do have a clueless bunch of fans.

I'd be quite happy to hear Pearson call Dellor an ostrich in the post match interview.

Give it to McDermott. If not. Pearson. Happy with either.

Why can our fans not let go of the past?

SC and BM will not recreate their success and only taint their legacy.

yes, but they may help stabilise the situation and cast-off some of our excesses.....hopefully redeveloping a squad that we can all enjoy watching once again.

Any "success" would be a bonus
